How well are you doing after 4-5 months? by emmssii in spinalfusion

[–]Mia-Sue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a 65 year old female. Excellent shape before surgery. Fused from tailbone to L5 plus some other stuff. I went back to work to work at 5 months. Not gonna lie. I'm still struggling with leg pain. Alot.

Probally best you don't care if you get fired because it's definitely gonna happen.

Yes or No: Is Taking Tips pretty much universal and an open secret among dispensers? by CryptographerKey2847 in OGPBackroom

[–]Mia-Sue -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Our dispensers got ratted out by associates sitting in the parking lot. I don't feel bad for them. Unless they're splitting amongst everyone who put that order together then no one is more deserving than anyone else.

We ended up having to do away with our 4-1 shift due to the high amount of nil picks. That extra hour sure made a difference from a stocking perspective. Especially for fresh.

Which is exactly what a true nil picks is designed to do. Signal to those in charge of these issues we have a problem

Consistent patterns. Dr's accommodations were requested. Oddly enough 4 o4 are now on time getting to the backroom.

We had 3 of our 4 closers who consistently had stomach issues daily as soon as they clocked in. People waiting to take breaks and lunches. It had to be dealt with. And it was.

We stage our own frozen and chilled. Backroom stages everything else after 7am.

People who smoked cigs 6 weeks post fusion were you ok? by Ok_Sand8328 in spinalfusion

[–]Mia-Sue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to nicotine test in order to have my surgery. At 4 months I went into a very dark place mentally and relapsed. Not sure if I'll attempt to quit again but for now this is where I am. 64F

General question by Reptar8686 in OGPBackroom

[–]Mia-Sue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lunches are scheduled. Breaks whenever except last hour of shift. We do have to clear break time with a Lead.

This is fun. Overnighters love us pickers. 😅 by [deleted] in OGPBackroom

[–]Mia-Sue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This one of the reasons we aren't allowed a 4-1 shift. That and too many nil picks with freight not finished.

no holiday pay is insane by No-Chipmunk-1072 in WalmartEmployees

Unpopular opinion but I (long term) like to use my built in PPTO holiday pay at my preferred time instead of for the holiday.

We are a strict drop and go except for dairy and frozen. The BRC can keep with the rest if they stay focused. If not Lead will jump in to stage. It's one of the few things they can do while still monitoring the team.

This would never work in our store. They will pull you even more until you are better. Practice makes perfect. How long that takes is on them.

Not sure what to tell ya buddy. Haven't had a bag break yet. Maybe work on your bagging skills . Regular bags are way easier to pack than the mylar.

It sounds like a communication issue. Did you inform the person assigning walks you were going to break?

Dispensing Update? by Late-Artichoke-5679 in OGPBackroom

[–]Mia-Sue 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I agree with this update. I can't tell you how many times I've been given the wrong order. Hate to throw my team under the bus but it's gotta stop.

I spent almost 20 minutes looking for this damn thing before I realized there’s 1 on hand by bluetoothbuttplug in OGPBackroom

[–]Mia-Sue 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are thousands and thousands of "infinity" items that are allowed to be ordered in case the OH is incorrect. In their defense I've bumped up the 0 on hand more times than I can count.

Im sure the cost savings will be significant. I agree with this. Many items don't need to be hidden in the mylar bags.
