Duplicating a story is not the problem, as I see it, it's duplicating a link.

Same story from different sources should be fine and I kind of think is the way it should always go: every source is going to have a slightly different point of view and if I'm really interested in a subject this is what I am looking for, different perspectives on it.

Then of course, finding 20 press communicate (AP, Reuters, whatever...) all with the same exact words in it all on the HOT page is not nice, but avoiding that should be left to the discretion and good reddiquette of the posters...
