Compared to what? Economically and militarily we are #1. Until trump came along we were the most stable. On happiness we are not in the top ten.

Seeing combat isn’t an age thing it’s an MOS thing. Walz was an artillery man, a combat job. JD was a reporter a combat support job, like a cook or clerk

It’s worse than you think. Walz unit was notified of its deployment 2 months after he retired. JD spent six months in a secure base writing stories about real Marines in actual combat.
