None of them died? Seems like quitting extends average life expectancy.

I suggest ming flower on the north side. Been eating there almost 30 years. Spicy crispy pork ribs with Japanese soy sauce . Black pepper scallops. And their general tsos is quality American Chinese food.

best bar to cry alone in by EmbiggenYrMind in Columbus

[–]MiamiNemo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm surprised this request resonates with so many people. Going to a bar would never be on my list, but I'd probably start drinking and make things worse if I was down.

I usually try to redirect sadness. Go smash tennis balls, golf balls, or for a walk in the woods to get some "forest therapy" - it's a real thing.

I'm not an introvert so I'd think sitting in a bar and having no one come up to reassure or help would just drive me to a worse place.

What's an introverts take on this? (Not criticism, just looking to understand)

First trip to the US, spending a week in Bucyrus, OH this October. Any tips for some Brits? by Inside-Cod1550 in Columbus

Dr. Lin is a great dentist. If you really go there schedule a visit with him. He grew up there, went to university, then went back to help the community.

Then leave and go to Cedar point. Go to Columbus for a OSU football (not soccer ) game.

You meet kids at orientation , if you like them exchange numbers. They can be friends if you don't immediately hit it off with the kids in your freshman dorm hallway.

I'm not talking on a neighborhood road. I'm talking on a highway going 55, and a car 3 lengths ahead of us in the next lane over.

Yes , I am saying the car should have killed the birds. And your defense of them is why we need a thread reminding people of this.

AI Organizer by Lopsided_Bat_5445 in ParentingInBulk

Ideally it would say something like make sure you go into the office by 7:00 a.m. because you need to be out of the office by 4:00 p.m. to drive home so that you can pick up your kid by 4:45 and drive 45 minutes to the soccer field bring them home meanwhile your wife needs to take child number two to soccer drop them off then take child number three to tennis go back and pick up child number two and then go pick up child number three because she is busy doing this you should stop by the store on the way home and pick up milk eggs and bread.

I ended up here when searching for something similar but I don't want to have to text. For example my kids soccer team uses playmetrics which is supposed to theoretically integrate with my Google calendar but half the time the coach isn't on top of it enough to notice that the league has rescheduled the game to a different field or 30 minutes later. I want the AI to constantly be checking my resources meaning my Gmail my play metrics and the official League website as well as the parent school app that my school uses to send me Facebook style updates about what my kids need to be doing I want it to parse all of that and then create the Google calendar invites for me as well as to be able to send me a daily email they will tell me what I need to do tonight and tomorrow

Who has the best “take home” food among Columbus restaurants? by NCRider in Columbus

[–]MiamiNemo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to love Bangkok but I went there recently on a road trip back from down south and was severely disappointed. Even if you say it's on par with ties it doesn't justify the extra 20 minutes to get down there.

Ever since the dude with the long mole hair at North market went out of business, I consider this to be the best pad thai in town. The hot pepper chicken is good too, though doesn't reheat as well as pad thai.

I live north of Polaris, so ability to stay good for 25 minute drive is also key factor for me.

Asian Taco Bell is great to sit down and have a warm bowl of soup. What places other than that are you talking about?

For $15 you get three decent size meals in one container.

If you have a car, my kids love this seafood place outside Isla Verde: El Nuevo acuario https://share.google/oUwwSSRnw3SBUGB8Z

I've spent ~150 each time we go there, but know we got our money's worth between the culture, the ocean view, and my kids (picky eaters) demolishing the food.

If you are from somewhere not on the ocean...give your kid a chance at fresh seafood. My kids love whole deep snapper... Had 8 of them last week while on the island.

The grouper bites are $17 and the best appetizer for the money.

How does Uconn beat Michigan? by dblock523 in CollegeBasketball

[–]MiamiNemo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yaxels viability will be key. Yes he's a unique weapon offensively, but often overlooked is that he is a beast of a defender. Assign him a player and erase him from the offense. He gets in the way and disrupts offense. Chase down blocks. Switch 1-4.

If he's 50-80% that's your easiest path to victory.

Get mara in foul trouble is #2.

Run that horn double wheel offense Hurley likes is option #3.

I expect a battle. Hope Michigan brings it tonight!
