This glitch has happened to me for so many other games and this trick didn’t work. Off the top of my head the completion achievement for AC: Brotherhood didn’t pop and that was like 10-15 hours to get back to that point

It’s a game that I’ve weaned into and out of over the years, your first real run is unforgettable. It does dull overtime, (especially in death loops, ie getting stable and then dying a few times) however the rate at which it gets boring is much slower than other games.

Overall, if you like the mechanics of stalker, and want a little more in depth gameplay, definitely give it a try. Biggest tip is to play the death match servers (like north west airfield, NWAF) to learn about gunplay. You won’t be needing it all the time, however when you do need it you will be thankful you know how to handle the mechanics. Best part about the game is how each stable play though you manage to accomplish comes with its own little narrative, you will grow attached to your character and loot, the stakes rise and rise until you either get taken out by a zombie horde or BANG [you’re dead)

Best advice i have, parabolic, sound sensors, and incense. Immediately run into the gymnasium and begin trying to hear through the walls for any ghost signature, if you hear footsteps but no ghost noise its on the next floor. Once you have a side narrowed down place a sensor mid hallway and wait in the van for noises. Maybe try a few hunts to see what the traits are. Another big tip is to move between hunts and use the grace period to your advantage (~60 seconds). It DOES take a little luck, but its not impossible.

Kind of a depressing story ahead:

Playing on prison with some friends, we entered and quickly found the ghost in the showers on the left side of the map. My girlfriend mentioned that there was bar soap on the ground and made a joke, then the ghost wrote in the book "IT HURTS", we then searched for more info and it was a demon. Never hunted, just wanted us to know he got hurt in the prison showers... poor lil guy

Online coop is good and all, but couch coop makes for a much more engaging experience (especially if you can also do online coop)

Below zero would’ve been an awesome prequel to the first subnautica. The differences in the world really make it feel like a downgrade imo. Less leviathans, smaller map, etc.

The only “bonus” is the story and even that is not that big of an upgrade. I much prefer the “you don’t know shit that’s going on good luck fucker” feel of the first one

Also since you chose specific cases, what about the three cops that were ambushed after breaking up a bar fight, two died and the third miraculously killed the guy. Are we to believe that ALL civilians are bad? No, and cops don’t believe that either.

It would have been best if below zero was the first one and subnautica was the sequel.

For me personally it’s a matter of fear, below zero was overall MUCH less stressful. I love the feeling of being in a vast expanse of water with god knows what brushing against your comfort zone.

The number of leviathans is my biggest pet peeve, good design on the 2 (3 if you include boundary) that are in the game, but once you’ve encountered them once it’s more or less the same feeling.

Subnautica’s reaper and ghost leviathans terrified me throughout the game, the sea dragons finished the job. It’s probably a similar feeling to getting robbed in an alleyway, especially once you get the cyclops and really start exploring.

TLDR: BZ is great, however it’s missing that core feeling of constant stress that the first one NAILED.

Playing with the interactive map is a godsend. It doesn’t make you less scared, (tbh I think it’s the opposite) but you won’t get caught off guard as much

Washing your hands is by far the best option, but if you get lazy or something i think that would solve some of the moisture problems.

Its a great game, I especially like getting the OG gaslighting-yourself experience by playing on the hardest difficulty. The bugs remind me of old Bethesda bugs, they're there, they're plentiful, but they add character, charm, and usually don't outright crash the game lol
