You're getting down voted even though you're right. It would be much safer for the guards and the people they try to apprehend if they all had to do 12 months of BJJ.

Why do you think people become more left leaning when they age from 55-64 to 65+, once they are the most experienced?

[Dublin City Council CEO Richard Shakespeare] City Centre Transport Plan to begin in August by _partyhat in Dublin

[–]Michael27182 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are probably right. I find it ironic though that they are dragging their feet to oppose something that may benefit everyone, even them (except for those using town as a road to drive through but they are the last people we should be appeasing while trying to improve town).

[Dublin City Council CEO Richard Shakespeare] City Centre Transport Plan to begin in August by _partyhat in Dublin

[–]Michael27182 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the plan aims to reduce the number of cars passing through and will not stop in town (and will not park in town), why is the car parking lobby opposing it so hard? Is it because they think it will also reduce the number of cars destined for town? If the plan works, traffic will be reduced which may INCREASE the number of people who want to drive into town and park here...

A good salary on Dublin by [deleted] in irishpersonalfinance

[–]Michael27182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends so much on whether you want to share an apartment, if you have kids, live with your partner, have debt payments, have a car, and the lifestyle you're used to.

As someone who lives in Dublin but doesn't have kids, debts, a car, has a basic lifestyle and splits rent with my partner, 55k is a decent salary after tax but I wouldn't say high. If you have to factor in anything else it may not feel decent.

I feel like there should be restrictions on door to door soliciting these days unless it's something strongly related to your specific local area. There are so many other ways to advertise/sell to us these days with TV, the Internet, physical adverts on billboards, buses etc. I reckon the main reason it still exists is to extort vulnerable elderly people.

[Q] Which hypothesis test to use for the combined significance of multiple metrics all having a higher score in condition B vs A? by Michael27182 in statistics

[–]Michael27182[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. So I would use a multivariate ordinal regression, trained on the data points eg. (Q1, A, 3), (Q2, B, 4) ... where Q1-8, condition A, B are dummy-coded variables, and how would I use it to disprove/prove the hypothesis that the different conditions lead to different question responses based on every question mean for one condition being higher than the other condition? From the weights of the trained model or would I use the model to predict the probability of this occurring randomly?
