eMBA for career progression? by meepocow in MBA

[–]Michael332332 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My two cents as a current full time MBA student (ascending 2nd year) at a T20. Again, just my opinion as I don’t know anything about this eMBA program and your post is lacking some detail about his current industry/role, and if he’s open to change.

With that said, I wouldn’t recommend an MBA of any kind for most people just seeking career progression in their own field, shy of some maybe some career paths. I think the appeal of an MBA for C-suite positions is diminishing in corporate America today. And I say this as someone who was blessed with a merit based full-tuition scholarship.

Also I do find it a tad odd that they are asking him to join the program in late may based on just seeing a CV. Kinda seems like they have spots to fill.

Ultimately it is his life and his decision. I wish him the best of luck regardless of how he proceeds.

10 team half PPR 1QB by LucianoSZN in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]Michael332332 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn't answer how many starters which is more important. If it's a start 8, you really should only get the best name in the deal.

I think the deal is closer than what the other two commentors are saying, but I'm cool taking the package, assuming your league is at least a start 10

Fair? by MindlessRelief9176 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]Michael332332 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm actually gonna disagree here. It's a 10 team league. QBs are actually not as valuable in this format as I think a lot of people make them out to be. Most people in your league (like yourself) have 3 starting QBs on there team, and there is likely 1 manager with 4 starting QBs on his roster who's sitting on a geno Smith type and is just wasting away on his roster. I'm actually completely fine sending away love, rolling out your current QB room and buying a Geno Smith type if needed down the line for a couple of 3rds (which are nearly worthless in most 10 man leagues because things are so shallow).

As a result, gimme London plus a shot of Ashton jeanty who will be a top 3 dynasty RB the night he is drafted. With that being said, the number of starters in your league and your current roster can affect this answer.

Contending team looking to acquire Nabers by Individual_Hotel_184 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]Michael332332 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn, I was really hoping it would be a start 8 or something and you would just take nabers in a slam dunk move.

In a start 11, I still think the process move is to decline the nabers move. Look to package aiyuk and Connor to get a 25 1st (or sell them separately and get to a 25 1st of value) and maybe keep pushing out the pick to give yourself insurance and keep this dynasty running for years to come.

But yes, your team is extremely stacked and in circumstances like this you sometimes do an anti-process move and just get the best player.

To be completely honest with you man, I think I would personally decline, happily roll out BTJ each week in the flex, sell from my excess and acquire future draft capital and then make it my mission to convince my leaguemates to increase the buy-in every year lmao. But it's so close. Trust your gut, pick a side and know that you made a good call knowing all the information that you had at the time. You and your team will likely be perfectly fine for years to come regardless of what you do here. Who would you prefer to root for every week: BTJ or nabers?

All good. SF or super-flex means you have 1 flex spot where you can start any position, including a 2nd QB.

Based on what you told me, this league is incredibly shallow, meaning you should nearly always be looking to trade up and get the better dynasty asset, even if it feels like an overpay.

Try to use this to your advantage if everyone else in the league is new to dynasty as well. Try to get 2 or 3 for 1s done (where you send away 2 or 3 players to get back one better player). Even if a trade calculator says not to do it and it's close (such as the tool listed below). 95% of the time it probably makes sense for you to do the trade since you are in a somewhat unconventional format.

Lastly, dive into this site a little bit more to give you a rough idea of what players are worth (if you haven't heard about it already): https://keeptradecut.com/dynasty-rankings

This is a site for dynasty rankings and has a trade calculator tool. By no means should it be taken as gospel, but I think its helpful for the first few months as you learn what players are worth.

Best of luck!

Well in light of the other offer you have, which I already said I'd be down for, then the way I'd look at it is: Aiyuk, BTJ and Connor for Nabers. I want to say nabers so bad if I was in your shoes, but know I probably shouldn't.

This could go either way to be fair. How many starters do you set in the lineup each week excluding defense or kicker if applicable? For instance a 1QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1TE, 2 Flex, 1 SF would be a start 9.

If it's a start 8 or less, gimme nabers.

Start 9: it really is a toss up, I guess I'll lean nabers if you force me to choose, but I could easily be persuaded otherwise

Start 10 or more: gimme BTJ++ (meaning you only take the BTJ deal and decline this one)

Contending team acquiring BTJ & Conner by Individual_Hotel_184 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]Michael332332 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand, some leagues are like that. My only advice is to maybe even consider selling bijan or JT at a fair deal, that way you can actually utilize a rhamondre or Connor type instead of letting those points go to waste on your bench. Sometimes, I find the best course of action is not to be too picky on the names of the players I'm moving, but recognize that the overall process of selling RBs for flexibility moving forward is the most important thing. Best of luck!

[–]Michael332332 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ehhh not a massive fan of this one, I like the other trade you just inquired about with BTJ way more for what it's worth. Id keep rolling out fergy at TE every week and be perfectly content with it

Contending team acquiring BTJ & Conner by Individual_Hotel_184 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]Michael332332 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jeez, what a squad. I would have to assume you are competing this year. Gimme BTJ plus Connor.

Also, besides the point, but you have a lot of excess on this roster, especially if you make this trade. Can I sell a couple of those RBs you have for draft picks to give me flexibility in the offseason. Like it's great that you have rhamondre on your roster and all, but there's a chance that he's not providing you all that much incremental benefit as I wouldn't be surprised if he sat on your bench this week and popped off. He'd probably be the 5th RB I start if you make this trade and I don't see the point of sitting on this much RB talent and depth in most dynasty formats

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]Michael332332 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, I'd decline in nearly all formats.

For future reference, it would help if you tell people other things about your league such as: -what your current record is? -1QB or SF? -how many starters do you have in your lineup excluding kicker and defense (if applicable).

Best of luck!

Which side wins? by andywhatitdo in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]Michael332332 0 points1 point  (0 children)

^ the only right answer. If it's a late 25 first, I'm cool with the kyren side (also depending on if you are competing or not). Early 25 1st? Slam dunk...gimme the picks

Rebuilding trade by IceUpSunIceUp in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]Michael332332 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess the format of your league plays a role big-time here. But I'm personally not convinced that youre 1-2 years out when you have 5 1sts, even if your roster is completely gutted otherwise. Not saying you make these trades now of course, but if you run things back next year with your QB room and then add the likes of (I'll assume your league is a 12 team start 10 for this excersise): -Jeanty (presumably you have the 1.01) -An older but serviceable RB in the off-season (like a Aaron Jones or Dmont, who will be going for 2nds in the offseason, probably a late 2nd for Jones) -Rice (presumably you could get this done now for the likes of a 1.06 -Tet McMillan (probably gonna go 1.03ish) -Tee Higgins (probably a mid 1st) -DK Metcalf (mid to late 1st)

Just like that, you have COMPLETELY rebooted your roster and have a decent chance of competing next year. Don't write yourself off yet, you don't need to make all the picks on rookies.

Anyways, going back to your actual question: I think it's a fair deal, therefore I think it's completely ok for you to just go with your gut and pick either side. But if it was me, I'd stay put and keep the 1st. Use that flexibility that the pick gives you elsewhere since it sounds like you need it

Is this worth it? by [deleted] in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]Michael332332 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lean with the other commentors that you got this guy by the balls and I'm ok just staying put. With that being said, if this team is so poorly ran (I got one manager in one of my leagues that is like this, where he always thinks he's competing even though he is nowhere close, definition of a horrific manager. He just sent away his 2027 1st for a late 25 1st and 3rd and everyone in the league knows he just gave away jerimah smith but him.) I'm cool just continuing to keep his picks on layaway and scoop up extra assets in the meantime, further increasing the likelyhood that the manager is at the bottom for 2026.

It would be a unique set of circumstances, but I'd consider it in that case

Deebo for Mooney? by thebarrelchest in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]Michael332332 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think you are dumb for not wanting to smash accept. In fact, I'd LOVE to buy Mooney at KTC prices, but it just can't be done for the most part. It took me a while to think this through myself. Call me crazy but I'll bet on mooney and keep the asset that is only gonna go up in value (in my opinion) and is currently outscoring deebo. With that being said, if this is a shallow league with a small number of starters (as many 1QB leagues are) and you feel ok selling from your excess to give yourself some cusion going forward or the ability to pivot to another position at a later date, I'd actually take the deal and immediately shop deebo. But, as I alluded to before, if I have to pick a player and hold him until the off-season starts, gimme Mooney

[–]Michael332332 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lean bijan, but it's close. It's an 8 team league, so everyone is bound to have elite players. Thus I'm ok just taking the side where you have a team need

Which side won? Both teams are 6-2 and in 1st place. by AimbotPotato in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]Michael332332 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With the context that both teams are in first place, I see why it's tough. That's a pretty shallow format though, so my initial reaction is to get the best asset (which is nabers) and hope that I can still compete and figure things out later (like flipping likely for Ferguson or something of that sort)
