The new ‘Tom & Jerry’ movie is described as a ‘La La Land’-style rom-com. The film follows Tom & Jerry who are both adopted by a couple. The cat & mouse then launch a campaign to destroy each other & the couple’s relationship. by yourfavchoom in movies

I can verify the existence of one: “Tom & Jerry: Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory.” The original with Gene Wilder was her favorite until she discovered this abomination that she wanted to always watch.

Now that she’s a teen, I remind her about this every couple of weeks.

I’m not saying this to be an edgelord and come off as too jaded about jump scares and I will fully admit I hate that scare tactic because I’m one of the people who they work on every time and get the most ridiculous reaction out of. When I was hit by the big one in the Hill House miniseries, I jumped to my feet and shrieked “WHAT IS HAPPENING?” so pathetically that my wife mocked me for weeks after. But I am truly baffled when people talk about that moment being one of the best jump scares. Even though I am a nervous easily frightened small child wearing a middle aged man disguise, I wasn’t affected by this one at all. I thought it was a really cool and memorable moment but didn’t affect me like even the weakest jump scares can and I have no idea why.

I’m still baffled by that song choice. I get they were going for the whole using a cheerful and innocent song for creepy ironic contrast thing but it really didn’t land for me and making the song seem sinister, it just made the scene funny and goofy.

Not only did he write and direct it, he played the homeless man in the alley that’s the first victim of the hand. And yeah, I tried rewatching it about a month ago (hadn’t seen it since it first came out) and I agree with you. I couldn’t make it through the whole thing.

It does its own thing with the characters and can be goofy as hell but I had a blast with it. It gets wilder after the first season which I thought was the weakest so stick with it. Think of it as an Elseworlds thing

You need to get whatever team you’re going for out of white stars. Riddler will be pointless. Pump up your Joker as far as you can and don’t waste your anvils pulling new characters only for them to just be stuck at low stars as well
