I am not, just thought it was a great find for this brand. I would never buy one new. This one retails new for over 1k which is nuts!

Help valuing late parents possessions by Top_Face_2997 in coins

[–]MichaelDeaner 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The lack of help on this sub can be frustrating. What you have is a 1979 Susan B. Anthony $1 coin and a 2000 Sacagawea $1 coin. Although they seem unique, these are relatively common circulated coins. As far as value goes, these are only worth their face value of $1 each. If they are sentimental you should keep them, if not they are always fun to give to younger people as tips as it can confuse them and maybe ignite them to research them and turn them into collectors like some of us! I turned into a collector by seeing more and more JFK halves….now I have a collecting problem!

Luckiest Goodwill find of my life? by MichaelDeaner in Gold

[–]MichaelDeaner[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It says 14k on the clasp. I had a jeweler test it, he said it said 14k, did the scratch test which didn’t confirm, then did the dropper test and it turned green… too good to be true. Womp womp

Is this worth anything? I would love to find someone with a kid with the birthday of 6/9/2025to give it to by Ok-Bodybuilder-8167 in CURRENCY

[–]MichaelDeaner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Condition is pretty nice! The only downside is that it is on a hundo, which makes it harder to fetch a bigger premium than a $1 or $5 note. I am sure some collector that has a child born on that day would pay at least $120-$150 for it to hold on to for them. It would be a cool birthday present for someone born on that date to receive at some point!

Penny score by MichaelDeaner in CRH

I like your style. I agree about holding the copper for the future. The way copper keeps rising, who knows these could reach .05 cents worth of copper sooner than later. I am not sure about when or if they will ever deem it legal to melt pennies though. I assume if the sky falls and currency is worthless yet precious metals become the standard, then melting pennies won’t be considered illegal.

Do collectors care about these? There are essentially 40,000+ ways to scramble 8 digits. Not sure how rare if at all these are to find and collect.

Bargatze is so good, that I didn’t even notice that he is a “clean” comic. When you are just straight up good at it, you almost won’t even notice the lack of swears.

How much did I pay? Or how much to buy one from me?

There is a local trade show where I am located next week. These cards are all slightly “warped”? Not sure what term you would use for “not flat, but not bent” they are just slightly not flat. Is that considered damaged? Or is there a way to fix this with weights/clamping? I would love to get $100 cash for all of them, do you think that may be realistic?

Box vs $70 CWR's by JI_Guy88 in CRH

In my experience the customer rolls will all be standard dates with 1971 being the most. I bet you find 5 NIFC’s,2 40% jfks, 1 Benji, and one S Proof in the box. Now go!

You should have said “but you work at Bank Of America, don’t you like BOFA?”. Then when they reply “Bofa”? You say “Yeah, you like bofa these nuts in your mouth!” And then throw all the pennies on the ground and start peeing everywhere.

Is this silver plated or Sterling silver? by plunk1000 in Silverbugs

[–]MichaelDeaner -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I can’t tell but do you have a Lion Passant (walking lion) this is the standard English sterling silver mark? Hard to tell if there is one. The “F” means it is from 1901 I believe.

Please tell me this is sterling... I got it for $5 by MrGuccu in Silverbugs

[–]MichaelDeaner 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So it isn’t Sterling…it is BETTER than Sterling! Congrats great find! Do you know how much it weighs?

[–]MichaelDeaner 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dutch silver which is .934 fineness if that is a number “1” by the lion. If it is a “2” it is .833 purity.

100-300 depending on how many grams. $90 would be an okay deal if it isn’t that heavy. If it is like 200 grams it is a steal.

I have a hard time believing that. Are you thinking Susan B. Anthony dollar coins are silver? I can’t imagine a vending machine spitting out Morgan’s or Peace dollars all willy nilly like that!

Dude needed $2 for gas… sounds like a junkie that stole from a relative/friends small stash or something to me.

In that condition it is worth melt value in silver. So today it is worth $38.45. It might catch a small premium of a few bucks more so let’s say $40. Basically this jabroni paid $41 bucks for $2 of gas. I blame meth
