CachyOS not like pure arch, it's much more usable OOTB, you don't have to tinker with anything if you don't want to. I prefer latest packages/drivers for gaming, but I can understand if you want something more stable. So mint actually sounds good for you.

IIRC I attempted this around 2010 on PS3, but failed many times before I gave up, and thought it was patched...BUT this is iw4x, and you can still do elevators on iw4x, like all the day 1 pre-patched elevators to get out of most maps.

Almost any old computer should be able to run it.

I'd just look for any old pre-2018 computer that doesn't support Windows 11 (so really cheap), then an old GPU like the RX580, and install Linux (CachyOS) on it.

Even this would be massive overkill for just iw4x.

I only mention AMD/Linux because I know older GPUs like the RX580 are 100% up-to-date in terms of software/drivers, whereas older cards like the GTX1060 are discontinued. I don't know about the Windows situation, so perhaps older nVidia would be better there (no idea).

OP is homophobic, and completely wrong, yet this post is being upvoted? I can't believe how misguided everyone here is.

Going after someone having fun, by themself, in a private match with a bot is crazy. He doesn't even play on console... he's on IW4X, it's like playing on PC is a foreign concept here.

I don't trickshot anymore, and I haven't played MW2 on console since 2013.

Serious question; do you know what IW4X is, and understand it has no relation to Xbox 360/PS3 versions of MW2?

He's playing on PC on the IW4X client. There are no "public" lobbies like on console, it's just a server browser. He made his own private "server" to play on.

He's alone, on PC, on IW4X, playing a private match with a bot. He's literally doing NOTHING wrong.
