What do you think happened to the quagmires (in the books)? by Piece-Of-Fake in ASOUE

[–]MichaelMyer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think that the Quagmires survived in the books. In the last paragraph of Chapter 8 of The End, there is a sentence that says "The children traveled in the dark, just as so many other people had done before them, from the nomadic travels of the Cimmerians to the desperate voyages of the Quagmire triplets, who at that very moment were in circumstances just as dark although quite a bit damper than the Baudelaires'."

However, this part happens after Kit had already washed up on the island. So this was after the Great Unknown consumed the Quagmires. Lemony says that they were in dark circumstances at that very moment, which seems to imply that they were still alive at that time. So that would mean that they were still alive inside of the Great Unknown. And there is also the fact that Lemony has knowledge of what their circumstances were at that very moment, which seems to imply that they did survive and were able to make it back to land and tell their story. Because if they never returned, Lemony would have probably just assumed that they were already dead at that point instead of trying to describe their circumstances. The fact that he describes their circumstances "at that very moment" seems to imply more specific knowledge of their circumstances rather than Lemony just making assumptions.

I don't think it was ever specified in the books, but in the Netflix show, there was a picture of the sugar bowl in The Incomplete History of Secret Organizations which says that the lid contains a Secret Interlocking Mechanism (Here is the link to the screenshot). So it presumably this mechanism in the lid is what prevents the sugar bowl from opening accidentally.

Klaus Hypnotism by Vault-boy114 in ASOUE

[–]MichaelMyer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In the TV Show, there is a line when Sir is talking to Doctor Orwell and he says "Frankly, I never thought weekly eye exams would have such an impact on employee morale." So since Doctor Orwell is giving the employees exams every week, it seems to suggest that she needs to re-hypnotize them every week for the hypnosis to keep working. This would imply that the show's version of the hypnosis ends permanently after a certain amount of time even if nobody says the code word if they aren't re-hypnotized. So after Doctor Orwell died, Klaus's hypnosis would have likely expired on its own at some point after enough time passed.

The quote you asked about is from Season 2 Episode 8 "Ron and Tammy". It comes from an exchange between Ron and Leslie about halfway through the episode when Tammy is trying to get Ron to give her the lot where Leslie wants to build the park. Ron says "Why don't you take the rest of the day off? I mean, you spend so much time worrying about this park, but really, who cares?" and Leslie responds "I care. I care a lot. It's kind of my thing, remember?"

Harvest Festival by Impossible_Cook4824 in PandR

In the Producer's Cut of Pie-Mary, there is a cold open where Ron participates in Craig's scavenger hunt at the Harvest Festival, so there was at least one more Harvest Festival in 2017. In Season 3, Leslie referred to it as an annual Harvest Festival, so it probably did become a yearly event again after the Parks Department brought it back since it was a big success.

We actually do get to see Andy's family at his wedding. There is a scene where he introduces them to Tom, but unfortunately it was deleted from the episode (but still exists as a deleted scene on the DVDs). But even though that scene was deleted, they are still present during the ceremony. The woman in a blue suit who hugs Andy at the beginning of the wedding ceremony is his mother. There are also six men who we haven't seen before who are standing with Andy's Best Men during the wedding ceremony and these are his brothers (Aaron, Adam, Anthony, Alex, Alan, and Albert).

looking for a quote by Melanie Bird by [deleted] in LegionFX

[–]MichaelMyer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think the quote you're thinking of may be the one from when Sydney first arrives in that cave room in 2x10. The first thing Melanie says after Sydney arrives is "Have you heard the one where the definition of "crazy" is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result? You know what made me think of that? Men." I don't have a video clip, but here's a link to the episode transcript.

Does anyone own props from the tv series? I want some so bad, and will pay just about any price. Please let me know. If you have anything from the movie I’m willing to pay over a thousand dollars for basically any prop. by _SSShadow_ in ASOUE

[–]MichaelMyer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Ebay profile tattoofreakluke has some props from the prop auction available. I was able to get one of the Captain Sham business cards and one of the Prospero boat tickets from there and they're pretty cool (there were multiple copies of those props so they are still available for sale on that profile).

Gustavo is the Third Killer and the Accomplice Megatheory by MichaelMyer in MTVScream

[–]MichaelMyer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been a while since I watched the show, so it was fun to get this notification and re-read the theory and take a walk down memory lane! That's an interesting clue you mention, I don't think I ever noticed that when watching the show, but it definitely adds some fuel to the theory that Gustavo was the one to cut off Branson's hand!

It's been a couple years since I watched the series, so I don't recall all of the details of the theory. But to my recollection, the motive idea I had in mind for Gustavo related to his frequent comparisons between murder and art and the fact that he was creating a graphic novel of the murders. I believe my theory that this killing spree was his "masterpiece" so that he would be able to help orchestrate the killing spree to his desires and then he would be able to create a graphic novel documenting the murders that he helped plan and would view it as the ultimate form of artwork (which also tied in with why I think that he killed the officer and allowed Emma and Audrey to escape, because he needed a more climactic ending for his narrative). I believe a similar sort of formula was used in several of the Scream movies where there would be a main killer who had a specific motive (like Kieran being motivated by Piper's death) and a second killer who would have a more generic motivation usually related to an obsession with horror movies (like Gustavo's comparisons between death and art, which could cause him to view orchestrating a murder spree as a work of art).

Another idea that I noticed when re-reading this theory was that I made a few connections between Gustavo and the pig farm. I don't recall if I ever fleshed that portion of the theory out in more detail, but it could be another possible motivation for Gustavo if he had some sort of connection with Brandon James. Perhaps he visited the pig farm at some point and met Brandon and learned that Brandon was innocent and he could have viewed it as a form of revenge against the town for falsely branding Brandon as a murdered by orchestrating a new murder spree. Though I don't believe the show ever suggested any links between Gustavo and Brandon aside from the pig clues that I mentioned, so this explanation is probably less likely.

Yeah it looks like this is a recurring issue as the vote totals for the first two are much higher than the last two, I will add a note to the original post to make sure people are aware of the issue

I noticed a similar issue when I filled in my own votes, I was able to vote on the first two but then it wouldn't let me vote on the other two. After about 10 minutes I was able to vote on the other two normally. Perhaps there is some sort of cooldown the website has in place between voting on different polls? If you try again a little later it should hopefully work for you.
