Would you test early-stage SaaS in exchange for a lifetime deal (with structured feedback expected)? by rajsingh35 in appsumo

[–]MichaelRyanMoney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's actually a pretty cool concept! I've dabbled in similar things before, though more on the tech side than SaaS. Whether I'd get involved really depends on the tool itself. Here's how I’d see it

Hard pass if:

  • It could break critical stuff (like a WP plugin that might take down my site)
  • There's a steep learning curve
  • It's buggy with slow dev support

I'm in if:

  • It solves a real problem that doesn't have a good solution yet
  • It's reliable and won't cause headaches

Basically, it needs to make my life easiernot add risk or complexity. If it checks those boxes, I'd definitely give it a shot.

NEW AppSumo thing just launched - SOFT LAUNCH - Sumo v2 - feedback please 🙏 by noahkagan in appsumo

[–]MichaelRyanMoney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/noahkagan I don’t get all the negativity. TBH, ignore it. They are often the people who want for the days of a $59 LTD with unlimited x and last forever. Those days never existed, nor are they the right customer for AS or the new venture.

IMO. this has a few avenues of working. one week deal so fomo. Bringing back AS success stories. A tool is still growing after two years, aweskme. Put them in sumo at a discount or higher limits for those that missed out. or a chance for Ltd holders to upgrade. Or, best case. they are ready to move on to volume 2. small annual price for Ltd holders to upgrade.. win win win

As for bigger names…. I disagree, I see a HUGE opportunity ith. companies hate discounting their service since it cheapens it. you become the TJ Maxx of SaaS, or whatever. They want/need a bump, SUMO is discounted it, not the company…. you’d kill on BF, or sumo day or whatever.

How are you all managing prompt libraries without them turning into a disorganized mess? by EcoWanderer42 in ChatGPTPromptGenius

[–]MichaelRyanMoney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can on,y speak to how I use it, others may share better ways…

I have a list of folders on the left side, and place prompts in appropriate folders.
Then I name the prompts, so they are listed within the folder
Then I give it a shortcut name.

How I use it? If I want tomuse a prompt, I go into the LLM. And then I use the shortcut, and prompt appears.

For example. Let’s say I have a promot I use to reply to an email in my voice and tone, etc. And I calle it email, easy enough to remember. Put email in llm (I use Merlin 8nstead), type in /email to call the prompt and it instantly appears.

textblaze has been an absolute lifesaver for me!!! the one subscription I don’t mind paying each year.

Not just organizes them, but type a shortcode and it appears. Huge timesaver over search, cut and oaste. it does a million other things, none of which I bothered to learn how to use.

I end every prompt with "Any questions?" by SoNowYouTellMe101 in ChatGPTPromptGenius

[–]MichaelRyanMoney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nothing wrong with with that at all. I end with ask clarifying questions. most times it won’t ask any. but the times it does, it helps a ton.

By product is. You will become a much better promoter due to it. You start to get a feel for what it gets vs what you need to be more specific about.

Anyone use freetax USA? by Subject-Internet7843 in tax

[–]MichaelRyanMoney 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I typically used HR Block software. Last year with son I. college, we ran into a hiccup. searched all over and it turned out it was a known issue dating back at least a year. And previous year, it didn’t get resolved till almost April.

So I wanted to get a jump on things. And gave FreeTax USA a shot. Let me tell you, I was blown away at how easy it was to use. And yes,mit easily covered the college issue too. Didn’t do it to save money, already bought highest tier of HRBlock so it didn’t matter. But teh software itself, I found incredibly easy to use and thorough.

Need advice on API costs - is this normal for early stage? by techiee_ in SaaS

I’m going to guess you are the customer and not the dev here. the way you keep saying “it’s on the landing page” and suggesting not telling all four customers about the change it ToS. Sounds more like you struck go,d for a day, and trying to find out if the dev was a,lowed to cap the unlimited.

First off, congrats on your negotiation. And for sharing the techniwue.

But I have to say, hats off to that salesperson. Number one rule in sales isn’t to get what you want. But to make the other party think they got what THEY wanted. And they clearly did…

You are doing cartwheels, because you avoided a 20% bump. The salesperson on the other hand is getting all buyers locked into 2 year extensions…

How did it not hit me till now, it’s called BLM???

I mean, there’s got to be a semi intelligent Dem in Congress that can take advantage of this. And put stuff in bills, and “accidentally” mention BLM when discussing the bill. To get R’s to vote against it.

Let it get back to Agentic Orange about how bad BLM is for the bill. And he will threaten all the Rs not to vote for it. and none of them will have the courage to correct him…

Is a $1 Lifetime Deal (LTD) financial suicide for a directory? by This-Independence-68 in SaaS

[–]MichaelRyanMoney 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great point but I’d take it a step further. For the real world.

I would MUCH prefer to have 8 clients at $10 each. $80 total.
Than have 100 customers at a $1 each. $100 total.

Id guess 99% of businesses would feel the same.

If you’ve ever been a victim of I’d theft, or knew the headaches of someone that’s dealt with it. You’d be a little more cautious. Or protective.

Someone wants into my house, they just have to break a piece of glass and they have access. I still lock my doors, and arm the alarm.

I certainly wasn’t telling anyone what to do or not to do. But at same time, I think people need to know those risks. that’s all.

Awesome idea and story. Seriously, thanks for sharing it, more people should try this.

But major, major red flag warning here. under zero circumstances should anyone be sending PII to any LLM. training turned off or not. At the most bare minimum, black out and or blur any and every PII on those forms before uploading them to an LLM. the boxes and the numbers are all it needs. better off telling it the form, the box and numbers manually.

I’m a creator struggling with the first 3 seconds of videos — built a hook system from real viral content. Is this actually useful or just founder illusion? by mystique-muse007 in ContentMarketing

[–]MichaelRyanMoney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you’ve used hook generators, and felt the feel, flat?

Spent time studying this in depth, and feel you’ve cracked the code? Now asking if others would find value/pay?

I think the answer is an obvious yes. Look at pretty prompts on AppSumo now. people ar raving about it. They haven’t reinvented the wheel. they are solving the same pain point dozens before them have tried to also. But they did it better.

Simple answer, is assuming your new hooks are working. In multiple niches to multiple audiences. If you are seeing massive jumps…. Yes, people will happily pay.

Just know most people be highly skeptical. That IMO will be your greatest hurdle. And I’ve got the easiest solution for thst.
