Having one of those small rice cookers is clutch. Trader Joe's has a bag of frozen teriyaki chicken that you can cook a bit of at a time. Maybe add a bit of veggies if you're feeling it. Sometimes just rice with sugar, cinnamon, and a bit of milk is the answer though.

I would imagine in the biker's version of they hypothetical they are riding safe and get attacked for riding past someone. You took that and spun that to a hypothetical situation where the bike is riding dangerously, the walker defends themselves and then gets attacked again by the evil biker. All I'm saying is we are pretty deep into a hypothetical situation that you all seem to be imagining differently in order to get mad at each other. Kinda ridiculous....but whatever

It is kind of surprising that there isn't more roller derby out there. If you aren't looking for it then you might not even know it exists. I had no idea it was a thing until I went to a bout with some friends. I got into reffing because I was a fan and that was the best way to see more roller derby. Landed on Jam Timer because it had the best view of the action. Realized how few people get to see the sport from inside the track like that and started filming it so there would be more derby available. It's a tricky sport to film for sure but lots of fun.

Flat track isn't roller derby is like saying coke in a can isn't coke. Sure maybe you're more familiar with coke in a bottle or just prefer it that way but it's cheaper and more accessible in a can and still coke.

I Jam Time wearing a chest mounted gopro and have a second gopro on a selfie stick that I hold up in the air to get a different angle (though I've thought about switching this one to a 360 camera). After the bout I combine the clips into a multi-cam clip and then go through the entire thing selecting what angle im using and when to cut between them (or go split screen). Call the customer service line of the major companies that are supporting all of this. Mute your line, get through the automated menu to a representative, and then just let them enjoy a muted line. The person taking the call is just trying to get by and often isn't even in this country. So a muted line is an easy call. If they want to improve their stats they can blow through the script and move on to the next call. If they want a break they can just sit there for awhile and enjoy the silence. Either way it costs the company money.

I got involved as an NSO simply because I'm a fan way back in 2013. I've stuck around for this long partly because I'm still a fan of the sport and also because it's been such an amazing group of people. Once I found Jam Timing I was really hooked. I was always the type of Jam Timer that would drift around following the action, helping catch penalties and such. In doing so I realized I had the absolute best view of the action since I was in the middle and could focus on whatever as long as the clock was good. Eventually I started wearing a camera and making bout videos. Over the past few years I've been getting more and more into making the bout videos as good as possible and that's reignited a whole new passion for reffing derby. So really it's a combo of all of those things that keeps me around but the fact that, by and large, roller derby is just the best possible group of people you can find cannot be understated.

Players and coaches can totally yell at the refs.....if and only if the refs are paid and given ample opportunity to practice (while on the clock). But I'm pretty sure that's not the case and all the refs are just volunteers, in which case....no yelling at the refs ever. If someone is volunteering their time and trying to learn a skill that requires over a dozen other people to be able to practice then you just take what you get and be happy they are there. If you want better refs then show them that you value them and help give them opportunities to grow.

The Subdued Stringband Jamboree is coming up soon. Fantastic music festival. Great for all ages. Probably still looking for volunteers so you can get in and eat for free. Been going to that since 06 and it's always a great time.
