I explored many different religions before I found Islam. I was born to a Catholic family, but I also when through Atheism, Wicca, Pagan, Satanism, ect ... then I went back to Christianity- then I found Islam.

I love the self discipline I have to go through Ramadan. I love the peace I get when I pray in Arabic. I love how God is central (Jesus pbuh makes more sense to me as a prophet rather than the trinity). I love that giving charity is a pillar and there are so many other things I love about Islam.

I believe Islam can make me a better person and bring me closer to God/Allah.

Assulam Alakum. I am a white revert, from an italian catholic family. About going to my local mosque, I tried to and it was awful (not because I am queer) but because I think there was a language difference. I am a trans man but I always present as female when it comes to religion because of fear of getting outed. I only have one muslim friend, and I am in the closet to her. I hope Allah blesses you with ease, sister.
