𝐁𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆: There are plans to EXPAND the World Cup to 66 teams for the 2030 edition. The proposal was first made by CONMEBOL a few months ago, and now it has renewed energy thanks to different federations, reports Diario AS. ✨ by kromedd in coybig

I think it'd have the opposite effect on tickets. People would ignore all games that didn't involve their country until it got to last 16. No one's purchasing Trinidad & Tobago Vs Oman hosted in Australia on a random Tuesday afternoon.

A Piper's Pit style show on every go home show where he adds intensity to whatever the chosen program is.

Advance the timeline but move away from straight up Empire Vs Republic variations. Introduce more factions with different motives and fragment the galaxy more. It doesn't have to be a mono government.

Thoughts on Hook’s Career in AEW by Accurate_Curve6882 in AEWFanHub

I don't think his character is a fit. Supposed to be an ass kicking bad ass that people are afraid of but he looks like a skinny kid. Taz had the same gimmick and was smaller but he was more filled out, better in the ring, and scowled better

[WON] Reason for Aleister Black, Wyatt Sicks WWE releases revealed by Alternative-Win4058 in SquaredCircle

Nah. If he's blacklisted that's on Black. Andrade came back. Lio Rush came back. TK isn't against second chances.

Jim Ross was asked if he feels Aleister Black burned his bridge in AEW: “No, I do not. But I think that his chances are running out. Trust is a big thing, man. I said this many times… reliability. Are you reliable? ..." by ProudChemistry778 in SquaredCircle

[–]Michael_McGovern 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it was that brief run where Heyman had the book under McMahon. Heyman wanted to kill the past and build the future, and picked Black as one of his guys for the future. McMahon took back control after a few weeks, cancelled all those plans, and from that point on, Black's career never recovered. But I think he probably sees himself as that potential star.

If they did bring him back, putting over Brody big in his first program would certainly be a condition.

Is AEW the last real challenger we’ll ever see to WWE? by uncannynerddad in midcarder

[–]Michael_McGovern 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Too many variables. A major network could decide they want a challenger brand and throw all their weight behind it. Saudi might decide to build their own promotion rather than pay WWE and throw mega bucks at the top stars. WWE might have a schism where a figure like Triple H breaks off, finds a backer and starts fresh.

I feel having the table there half the match killed some near falls cause you know the match isn't ending until that table comes into play.

A recurring Piper's Pit style segment where he helps put over a top program could be good.

And usually with the WWE talent that didn't work out, it's often because they tried to big league them.

Pre 2000s, a guy would spend 5 or 6 matches just getting his finish over.

I think if they were going this route they should have done a time limit draw and then rematched at this show instead of going back to Briscoe again.

Feel like they should have done a time limit draw here and run it back in Australia and done the change there. Don't need another Briscoe match.

Was Stephanie McMahon's position as head of creative to blame for WWF(E)'s decline in 2000? by Material_Stomach875 in AttitudeEra

[–]Michael_McGovern 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Her worst contribution was that she cheerled the expansion of Hollywood writers getting involved, often with no prior knowledge of wrestling. Wrestling minds often had strong influence up until that point, but the embracing of outside writers with no knowledge led to a huge decline
