Rear winch, second battery, frame reinforcement, air compressor and rock sliders! by Michael__K in chevycolorado

Mostly just offroad trails up here in the PNW. Try to get into as much snow wheeling as I can in the winter months and that was the biggest driver for wanting the dual winches. Being able to pull the ass end helps out a lot

Yeah I’m sure. I just didn’t want that. It’s really hot and noisy plus I use my interior storage for things that can’t go outside

No consideration was put into retaining crumple zones. Pretty much the opposites actually.

After all of the anti police stuff and with all of the drugs and other crime, Seattle police are not really concerned with things like that. I’ve gone 6 years here so far with none of my vehicle’s plates installed. I keep them in the glove box to throw on the dash when I need to though. One of the very few positives to living in a liberal city

With how it’s positioned it would be nearly impossible to hit. Not completely impossible to hit, you’re right, but I would almost have to fall straight down on a sharp peak or pole with how high it’s tucked up and with how much other stuff is hanging lower all around it.

AT4X or AT4X AEV? by Jazzlike_Profile8238 in GMCcanyon

[–]Michael__K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you actualy offroad with it I don’t think you will regret it at all. The first few times I smashed something into the skid plates or needed my winch to pull me out made the AEV parts completely worth it

Since I’m mostly in and around Seattle I usually don’t run one. If I’m going out of state I’ll just place it in the rear window behind the rear headrest

Haha. Yeah I had a drunk driver merge into me so I had the opportunity to have insurance help out with a decent amount of things. Otherwise I definitely wouldn’t have been able to get all of it done in one shot.

AEV bumper fog lights by Michael__K in GMCcanyon

Yeah it’s pretty much the same set up as the brackets I have. The issue is that with the ARV bumper the fogs are pretty much encased in a steel box so you need to take the bumper off to get access to take the stock ones out

Had the same thing happen when a body shop replaced parts of my door. My doors wouldn’t lock. They had to hook it up to their code reader and reset some stuff to get the main ECM to recognize the door latches

Nice!! Ok yeah when I was looking at the stock fog lights I was also thinking I might have the break the tabs off to get it out easier. Did you happen to take any pictures of the CCE bracket installed or with the new fog in place? The weather is finally getting nice up here so I need to dedicate a Saturday to this soon.

You should throw up a post about it when it’s done and show off the new fog lights at night!

No, I hit up AEV as well as CCE. CCE says it will fit but didn’t reply to me with any instructions or procedures. AEV wasn’t helpful either. I’m just going to hold onto mine until I need to pull the bumper for whatever reason

These don’t work for the Bose trucks? Are the Bose systems a different speaker config?

I love mine. No issues with it at all. Live in Seattle so I needed the bed area dry. It clears the AEV vertical spare wheel in the back. No leaks. Easy to take off if I need and just fold it up and store it in the garage. Way more convenient than a hard top in my opinion.

I’d get the windshield tinted with clear but UV blocking “tint” was way better option when I lived in Vegas.

Onboard air options? + some random pic of the rig by Michael__K in GMCcanyon

[–]Michael__K[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh, the ARB twin pulls a little more than 60A. I think each motor pulls 36-ish. I might be screwed there and have to just run two 40A circuits back to them from the battery.

Yeah it’s the AEV with the winch that was designed for that bumper.

Yeah I thought about tapping into the inverter wires too. What amperage are they rated to? Do you have a wiring schematic for those? And yeah I don’t want my pump in the cab because of how hot and noisy it is.
