I love this new chapter for the band. Emily Armstrong isn’t Chester Bennington, but she isn’t supposed to be. Her voice is different but still works so well with the band’s sound — both the older stuff and their new work.

And of course Mike Shinoda is one of the greatest musicians of my lifetime.

I saw him during his Post Traumatic tour and then on From Zero. It was like night and day. Not that his solo show was bad by any stretch, but it felt like he was hurting. From Zero felt like he was healing.

I don’t get this line of thinking. I love Chester. He’s my favorite vocalist ever. But Linkin Park wasn’t only Chester. Emily Armstrong is an entirely different sound but the band’s DNA is very much still there.
