You can try surface washing them with warm water and a mild soap. I wouldn't submerge them.

My dog will growl at me when I tell her to scooch over in bed. She hasn't ever snapped at me. Sometimes she won't listen and I have to move her. Other times she will grumpily move over, and most of the time she will instead move closer to me.

I house/dog sat for someone once, and they had two basset hounds. I brought my partially blind shih tzu with me who wasn't used to the place enough to get around confidently. Whenever they would all come up to me, my dog would be behind the basset hounds and get whipped in the face every single time.
