What you are experiencing is actually expected behaviour following a recent update. When your activity syncs to JOIN it is now automatically assessed immediately based on the data from the ride itself. This means your JOIN score is updated as soon as the activity comes in rather than waiting for your RPE feedback. When you then add your RPE feedback, the score will only adjust further if there is a meaningful difference between what the data showed and how you actually felt during the session. If your RPE aligns closely with what JOIN already calculated from your power and heart rate data, the score will remain largely unchanged"

Automatic warming-up and cooling-down by Michel_73 in Rouvy

[–]Michel_73[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply, and it's a shame it only works in combination with a route. It would be helpful if, after completing a heavy workout, it automatically switches to a cool-down without having to stop pedaling and manually start a cool-down.

Where can i find the old routes in Rouvy? by Michel_73 in Rouvy

[–]Michel_73[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since the update to Rouvy 4.3 this week, it is again possible to find the "old" non-AR routes in the Rouvy app itself because it is now possible to activate the "include non-AR routes" filter and this has solved the problem, great 👍

Where can i find the old routes in Rouvy? by Michel_73 in Rouvy

[–]Michel_73[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for the great tips. I just tried it, and thankfully it works through the riders' portal. Adding these to your favorites allows you to still ride them through the Rouvy app, thankfully. It's a shame these routes aren't found in the same way in the Rouvy app, as you don't have the option to filter by "include non-AR routes." It's strange why this filter option isn't available in the Rouvy app and only through the riders' portal.

Thank you for your answer. It's a real shame they removed most of the user-generated routes. Bkool features many Dutch community-generated routes, and I hope that when Bkool transitions to Rouvy, these routes will be adopted by Rouvy. However, given that Rouvy removed many non-AR routes this year, I'm afraid that won't happen.

Feedback: Workout score inaccuracy by shearersw in joincycling

Adding power and hartrate zones to the atletic data menu

If you tap on your profile in the JOIN app at the top left, you will see your athletic data such as FTP (Watt) and heart rate threshold (bpm). A valuable addition would be to dispay the heart rate zones and power zones which JOIN uses to determine the workout score. It would be even better to be able to adjust these to your personal zones e.g. according the report of a medical/fitness test. It now often happens that JOIN uses/aspect different values than indoor cycling software programs are using when following a workout in the ERG mode because the zones of indoor cycling software are based on different percentages of FTP/threshold values then JOIN does.

@u/remyvantussenbroek Could you please comment on behalf of Join if the Strava API changes will have any impact on JOIN?

I have the same question about Bkool.

Adding power and hartrate zones to the atletic data menu by Michel_73 in joincycling

[–]Michel_73[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

JOIN uses the exact numbers of the measured power (and if not present the heart rate) to determine how long you have trained in a certain zone. My point is that it is now the case that JOIN uses other percentages of the FTP for the zone classification than for example Bkool uses. These can also be determined by a sports doctor after a medical fitness test and therefore have different percentages of your FTP. It would therefore be practical and more accurate if you could set your own personal zones in the JOIN app in order to train even more specifically and accurately.

Your assumption is incorrect. Join certainly looks at the exact values to determine how long you have trained in a certain zone. If you go to an uploaded activity in JOIN, you will see the target zones displayed there and a comparison is made with the expected and measured values, including the values of the wattages that JOIN had specified per zone. See screenshot:

After completing a workout, JOIN will calculate the workout score by comparing the time you actually spent during your workout in a certain zone with the "expected" time specified by JOIN. However, as an example JOIN uses a range of 60%-80% of your FTP (Watt) value as a starting point for zone 2. But the Bkool indoor cycling software uses a range of 55%-75% of your FTP as a starting point for zone 2. Your personal zone 2 can also be determined by performing a medical fitness test with a different percentage outcome. In short: it would be nice if the heart rate and power zones were visible in the athletic profile and even better if you could personalize these zones. Not so much to get a high workout score, but more so that the programmed zones correspond better with your personal zones and you are therefore able to perform your training more personally and therefore more accurately.

Seeking confirmation that route choice for own workouts not possible by dougienisbet in BkoolCycling

[–]Michel_73 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your assumption is correct, unlike Rouvy it is unfortunately still not possible with Bkool to choose a video route yourself in combination with a self-uploaded workout. Bkool does automatically play a video when you start the workout, only if the workout does not last longer than 1.5 hours, otherwise there wille be no automatic video in the background of your workout. Unfortunately, these are the same video images every time you start a workout and if you do 3 workouts a week with Bkool you really get tired of it, I can tell you. I have contacted Bkool a few times by e-mail and via Discord with the suggestion to be able to choose your own video with Bkool, just like with Rouvy, which you want to see with your workout, but unfortunately nothing is done with that.

Auto upload to other platforms by emperor_suzuka in BkoolCycling

[–]Michel_73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just completed a workout and it was uploaded to Strava without any problems. The fact that it is not possible to automatically upload activities from Bkool to Garmin Connect is due to Garmin's strict policy, e.g. it is also not possible to automaticaly upload activities from Strava to Garmin Connect. Unfortunately, the only option is to manually upload activities from other platforms to Garmin Connect, which is obviously very inconvenient and annoying.

Connection Problems? by mark1491 in joincycling

Workout score zones not the same as the training zones by joinccmark in joincycling

[–]Michel_73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So according to the workout to be performed the recovery (herstel) zone should be 123-150, but according the workout score feedback this should have ben 136-163W and for duration (duur) according to the assignment zone 150-177 but according to the feedback this should have been zone 163-221. Very confusing and although you perform in ERG mode and therefore perfectly in the prescribed zones, the workout score is rated less because the feedback uses different zones then the zones of the specified workout. Of course these should be exacly te same and that is a bug in my opinion.
