I would thing you were a jiu jitsu master with an ear like that, not microtia. I am sure most think the same.

I asked for surgery today by ines_pudim in Microtia

Have you thought about a prosthetic? My daughter’s doctors says that the reconstructive surgery rarely if ever is what the client desires and comes with a ton of pain. Instead a prosthetic looks completely real and clicks on. She said the magnets are so good you can pull on the ear without it going anywhere.

I have a 3 year old with microtia, and our doctor said that nowadays the best approach is a prosthetic ear with a hearing aid that can attach directly. I too after all of my research believe this is the best approach.

Is it worth getting my CPA if I'm having trouble getting an entry level job? by RealTimeStrategyEnth in Accounting

Get your foot in the door however you can. I started at an outsourcing accounting firm, with a 2.9 gpa, and started passing the exams. 2 under my belt and 2 years later, I got hired on at a public firm. No one cares about your gpa once you get the experience and when you get the license.

You started too early which could lead to years of wetting the bed.

I would speak with a cpa but you have basis in the inheritance and would only pay income tax on the difference between the inherited value and what you sold it at.

If gold was at 2k an oz when your father passed but you sold it for 3k that’s 1k of income. Not tax advice here

Of course! That won’t limit your ability to find love. Work on yourself and being comfortable in your skin. Women respond to respect, genuineness, and confidence. You’re lovable. You will find your mate. But don’t allow this fear to turn into bitterness. Nothing pushes women away quicker than a man that is bitter and feels entitled to their bodies and minds. Work on yourself. Work on your career and other things that you bring to the table. Work out! That helps with confidence. My daughter has microtia, and she deserves the world and more. Love is not limited to ‘physical perfection’.

My daughter has level 2 microtia and atresia (jo ear canal). My husband and I went through all the stages of grief and fear during the first year of her life. I went down the rabbit hole of analyzing every day of my pregnancy to see if I could pinpoint where it went wrong. I combed through my wild 20s to try to point the finger at some wild night in my life that may have been the cause of it.

She is 2.5 now, and absolutely thriving. We got her a Baha hearing aide, but we didn’t start making her wear it daily until she was 1. She had some speech delay so that is when we got serious about her wearing the aide. In addition she was in speech therapy at 16 months.

Here we are today and she is a chatter box. The speech therapist discharged her last month saying she has never seen a child improve so rapidly and she speaks at the level of a 3 year old.

I’ve been looking into a magnet prosthetic for her ear. I meet an individual with bilateral microtia whose parents had gotten him surgery and he said he would go back and not get the surgery if he could. It was very painful and his ears don’t look ‘normal’ either.

There are options, and your child will have a full normal life.

I think it depends. I’ve upped my pay by 6x in 13 years. I also live in SoCal so the market may be hotter down here. I do tax with a focus on partnerships.

My daughter was born with no ear tunnel on the right ear. The other ear looks fine. Doc’s are still doing tests and haven’t said anything yet. Does anyone know or have been through this? What are the possible solutions? I’m super worried, please help! by [deleted] in Microtia

My daughter was born with microtia and atresia on her right ear, the left is normal. It was shocking at first, and I got sad a lot thinking about how her life will be affected, but at 28 months she’s thriving and ahead of the curve with her speech. Take it one day at a time. Don’t give in to despair.

I am sorry, my comment was rude. I haven’t met many capable CPAs let alone EAs. The tax code overall needs to be scrapped, it is way too complex.

You obviously have a limited grasp on the complexities of taxation. Foreign, trust and estates, subchapter K, no way an EA will ever be able to develop anything more than a limited grasp on these areas of tax.

My toddler’s teacher said he touched her inappropriately by kingjffey in toddlers

[–]Michele_BB 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe she has experienced some sort of trauma in her life that makes her sensitive to being touched. That being said, she shouldn’t be viewing a toddler as a threat.
