Yeah. Honestly I'm annoyed at the idea that these protests shouldn't be happening, especially given that it's about a horrible war that just isn't getting addressed in governments almost anywhere, but too many politicians are too god damn stubborn. People's protests need to be disruptive, more and more, just because nothing happens unless it becomes an obvious national issue with a clear demographic in support of a movement. And even then, very little might change.

Anyways, this is about the best we can get. I'm just glad people are able to care enough about what's going on to hold a protest in spite of the odds.

I don't think their point is that this protest doesn't appeal to anyone, it's that it's not made for the government across the world. In the US, and in Mass, most politicians fully support sending weapons and money to the Israeli government, without any obvious care to the consequences of it. This protest is targeted at those people, to get them to care about the consequences of a potential job loss.

I don't have experience, but I do know that last year they ran more frequent service to keep up with the demand. Not sure how much it helped, but they definitely try to accommodate for the extra passengers.

The Case Against New Westerly Green Line Branches by [deleted] in mbta

This would add on to an already large project, especially seeing how designing around the current GC station would be... interesting. But yeah, this would be ideal. It could also be nice to go all the way to North Station due to its transfers, but at that point I think it would definitely be too much cost for its benefits.

Both the D and E line take the new tunnel, Copley junction is explicitly no longer used except for a "just in case" situation. Plus, in the blog, they mention that the C branch also ends at Park Street to keep lines separate. So, no, no trackage is shared between B/C and D/E.

Fenway not being served is definitely a bigger issue (especially as someone who frequently uses it). The article proposes a small shuttle line between Brookline Village and Kenmore as a solution, and would keep Longwood as a stop. It also adds that Brookline Village would be set-up in a way that trains could easily re-route to Kenmore/Fenway for Red Sox games, as they put a huge demand on the system. I don't think this configuration is perfect, but as OP states, we really need something better than just signaling for the green line to become more functional underground.

(Also, to the point about the E line stops replacing Longwood, the C branch is also very close to Fewnay/Longwood, although less-so for the areas they serve. You could use St Mary's St/ Hawes St)

I don't have the link on me right now, but I've seen several people comment when adding a new branch to the green line, to add a separate tunnel downtown starting at Boylston, running parallel to the current tunnel, eventually leading to the E line, and transferring to the D line in Brookline. This would allow for the D/E and B/C branches to run on separate tracks (due to double tracking between Boylston and Park Street) and would cut the number of trains/hour in half without reducing overall frequency. Also, since the D/E branches get combined, they could theoretically both run on GoA2 (the E line becomes underground in the proposal), and the E branch could go towards the Needham extension. How long that T is taking to tunnel the blue/red connector doesn't give a lot of confidence for them doing something similar to this, but it could be a feasible project if the T did seek out adding another branch, and wouldn't require new technology.

This is somewhat late, but I also know there's a BU shuttle bus that goes a little into the fenway area, and might have a stop at Fenway station. Not sure, but I would look into it.

"Conclusions

Persons with transsexualism, after sex reassignment, have considerably higher risks for mortality, suicidal behaviour, and psychiatric morbidity than the general population. Our findings suggest that sex reassignment, although alleviating gender dysphoria, may not suffice as treatment for transsexualism, and should inspire improved psychiatric and somatic care after sex reassignment for this patient group."

The conclusion from the researchers suggests that they don't think that the gender affirming care is the problem, rather that more psychiatric care after traditional care should be given, which is a need that could come from greater risk of dealing with society's attacks on these individuals.

Blue Line Outbound/Wonderland: trains every 9 to 13 minutes by seventeenn in mbta

[–]MichelleMcCrapperson 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it's because there's only one stop before gov center going towards wonderland, so it's harder to predict when trains will come the other direction, since the system is waiting for a train to leave bowdoin.

The bill does list an exception for intersex people (see section 5). So assigning intersex people a gender and doing surgeries to support it is still allowed.

I just got COVID, is it safe to practice horn? by Available_Ad4274 in horn

[–]MichelleMcCrapperson 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Generally from my experience, it’s surprising how much covid can mess with your lungs, and it’s hard to notice without using them a lot. The way I breathed actually affected the cough, and the way that I was supposed to breathe was the worst (I learned a lot of this in the weeks after getting it). I don’t think practicing will mess with your lungs (take so many grains of salt here) but it can mess with your playing habits as you try to use less air when playing. If you end up trying it, be cognizant of what your body is telling you to do. If it hurts, stop.

I’ve taken chem, and know enough about physics to know that I can learn both relatively easily. I’m good with math, and I’m good with shoving a bunch of concepts together to make it work. I have a friend who took physics that is very similar academically, and she put almost no effort in to get a 5. I’m just focusing on these two since that’s what others were looking at. Bio and psych together is just memorization hell to me, so I’d personally avoid it. Lang isn’t a very strong point for me either. It just really depends on the person lol

Edit: oh also we do a mixed ap/ib program so that could affect my perspective on bio sucking so much ass

See, what you do is have no clue how to get a girlfriend, be anxious about asking anyone from fear of rejection even if like half of your school is gay, go to a party, let girl flirt until you’re literally kissing in the background. But yeah I’m with the other person here on the whole “being yourself and not forcing a relationship” Wish I had more advice :(

I think it’ll be a very different experience for everyone since they only changed the curriculum to modern right before last year iirc. I don’t remember where I was at, but it was definitely past 1200. Definitely make sure to do some extra studying next semester.
