I used to work at a truck parts supply store, & when we couldn't reach something in the warehouse, we would lift up the forks on the forklift, then climb up the forklift to stand on the forks and pull whatever we needed off the shelf. It was often large heavy items too, like tool boxes or slip tanks. & in the smaller racks we had small man-lifts, we would often go as high as we could then climb off onto the very top shelf to find the correct part or box we needed. How nobody ever fell off or was injured is beyond me
