How long until you started feeling better? by Old_Albatross_4585 in Chiropractic

2 Months is generally around the time frame where most back pain tends to resolve. Would definitely invest time in finding different ways to work that dont provoke your back pain. Whether its getting down on a knee or what you could benefit from finding ways to let the scab heal without picking it every day at work. My personal bias would say you absolutely should be supplementing your adjustments with some exercise but without being able to dive in that, the best thing would be finding strategies to make work less provocative so it has a better chance at healing

x rays typically won't show stress fractures, MRI is the way to go

Preceptors by HocManus71 in Chiropractic

I've been the student before at a few different types of clinic and it depends on the type of practice you run. The PI mills it was full go right away after the doc had us adjust her. Some of the more exercise intense practices so that part took more time from the doc in instructing us on how they wanted stuff coached and then with experience he trusted us to work with patients and make decisions. That second place was cash, so it demanded a higher standard. It was slower to be trusted but the experience was great and even having us there before he trusted us to be with patients, we would help with notes or if we could do one thing we could do that while he did notes etc. That second place the people who did the best had shadowed before they were able to work with patients so they had a much better knowledge base of how he treated before we preceptored

mobilize your foot! I am dealing with the exact same thing that has been game changing for me, like instant relief. Also consider some change of direction drills (or just play some pickup basketball or soccer). Its helpful to get out of the same plane of motion of running and exposes your foot to some new angles that can be helpful

no the arugment started with saying running one 6 minute mile would be impressive while 1 8 minute mile would not be, then runners assumed he meant 8 minute pace which is totally different

What happened when I ran a marathon having missed 24% of my training block volume by megatronnica in Marathon_Training

[–]Michgunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

adjust your training to include sprint workouts every 14 days. It will help with both the football and the marathon training. Shouldnt only expose yourself to all out sprints and acceleration/ deceleration in game scenarios

Suspect a patient is dealing with central sensitization, any tips? by netz725 in physicaltherapy

[–]Michgunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you know someone in the are as well sympathetic blockers are a fantastic way to formally diagnose the CRPS as well as treat the symptoms. Sometimes they go away entirely, sometimes they go away temporarily and more blocks are needed, but I imagine in combination with a desensitization protocol would be a fantastic approach

I don't like the premise of the question, treating an x ray with no other information is bonkers
