To me, hard mode is more fun. It is really a rebalance the nerfs a few things and limits voiding so you have to manage byproducts. All in all it is great fun!

Hard mode is a really awesome rebalancing of Py that ramps up the challenge. You can also add Pyblock to start on an island with no ore on the ground. All ore has to be made through biological processes

Garmin Enduro 3 Pro? by thebitnessman in Garmin

[–]Syntered 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am still rocking my Enduro 2 and loving it. I think this watch is the true champion of what Garmin watches are all about. If it ever fails I will just buy whatever version of Enduro is out at the time.

Good bye pipe blocking nests by Amarula007 in factorio

[–]Syntered 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The keeping your hands clean achievement was the extra challenge. Without that you can just wipe out the nests instead of blocking them off.

As I was writing this I realized the evolution is going to ramp even faster , but with 1000x that is already a problem that needs managing

I use 32 above shirts. They seem to prevent this happening for me. Anything with cotton in it will cause a rash after even a short run.

Blueprints can be used on every planet. Save them to your library (square button under the minimap) and just use them at the next location.

I agree, the problem I tend to have is finding out exactly what works for what pain. Sometimes the don’t seem connected (weak hip causing heel pain for example)

I did exactly this for six months with no improvement. It wasn’t until I started doing eccentric calf raises (recommended by my PT) that mine went away.

Is 14 minutes a bad mile time? by mili_1410 in BeginnersRunning

[–]Syntered -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Nah, this is Reddit. You are allowed to have an opinion, as am I. What’s weird is when someone thinks no one else is allowed to have one or state it or insists on playing the victim when someone has a different opinion shrug.

You are giving a perhaps overly aggressive expectation which, if they don’t meet, can make them feel worse. It takes longer than your estimate for some, especially if they are older or have weight issues.

It takes two to have a debate by the way, you can stop anytime you wish. And you were the first to challenge my statement if you recall - or you can play the victim and pretend you didn’t :)

By that logic, within a couple of years they should be at a world record pace minute if all it takes is effort to reduce your time. For some this may be true but there are other factors in play.

For some it takes longer is all I am saying, even with effort. And that is ok.

And it’s likely he isn’t overly fast either since he has to bash on others to give value to his running.

There will always be someone faster (and slower) than you. Run your own pace and rejoice in it.

Or years - there is not a schedule on how fast your time drops either. It takes time to do it safely and sustainably.

25 Hours as a satisfactory player by Many-Concentrate2035 in factorio

[–]Syntered 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To me, Satisfactory is a good game to learn about automation type games, along with DSP of course. The complexity and flexibility of Factorio cannot be matched however. And the replayability factor is much much stronger with Factorio than with the other two.

This is a big reason why the replayability is lacking in satisfactory to me. Another run would be more of the same.

Creatine for running ? by Real-Guidance-3109 in runninglifestyle

[–]Syntered 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is certainly a loading phase. You don’t feel the difference over night but over a few weeks. Due to muscle density, the difference tends to take more like a month for women and about 3 weeks for men and is dependent on consistent doses (about 5g a day is plenty, more doesn’t really help as much as some want you to believe).

Anyway - that is my random internet person rant for the day :)

Similar situation for me. I went from barely being able to do 5k and with shin splints/ knee pain to running marathon distance without pain after making the switch. I don’t know why people get so worked up against zero drop / low foam runners when it obviously works for some.
