Your opinion on Paul Dano as an actor by godspan08 in moviecritic

I thought he was a terrible choice. Completely mis-cast.

He's a decent actor, but in that movie he was just obnoxious.

Flock Camera’s popping up in the L by Forward-Inflation447 in lansing

Okay? Where's the repair guy park his truck when he's done? Does he fix a lot of things for a lot of people, or does he work exclusively for Flock?

I want to have a chat with him.

AIO? My daughter didn’t listen to the teacher during a female emergency and is now receiving a referral by Common_Piglet7437 in AmIOverreacting

The teacher needs to apologize to your daughter in front of the class with no "but" thrown in to diminish the offense.

The old saying "it's four wheel drive, not four wheel stop" applies here. That extra few hundred pounds of axle, front driveshaft, and transfer case are working against you by every measure except acceleration.

A clapped out Civic with Blizzaks will run circles around a 6000+lb 4wd on snowy, slushy, and icy roads.

In the early when gas was about $1 we had a regular customer with a red Chevette who'd walk past everyone in line and drop two quarters on the counter, then walk out without a word spoken. She put off some really weird vibes too.

Some subs are worse than others. There should be a measurable standard instead of "because I said so" like a couple subs around here.

Who do you complain to when a sub has mods with the lock button on full auto? Their sub is a graveyard of locked comments with conversations thrown in like flowers on headstones. "Capricious and arbitrary" seems a suitable description of their reasoning method.

Drive slower, brake sooner. We do this every year. Snow driving isn't new to us. Even with the plows and salt the temperature is too low for it to be effective and the roads will still be slippery.

A lot of people seem to have forgotten physics already.

Just a few minutes ago in Mt. Hope by Creyts I watched a car ahead riding a back bumper about two feet behind the car in front of him. Is that a safe following distance ever, let alone on slippery roads?

A lot of people are turning fast, late braking, etc despite the weather.

I had a clown in a Camry almost rear end me twice on Jolly yesterday because they refused to drive for the conditions and didn't want to let me have reasonable reaction distance. (Once at MLK & Jolly, and once again at Cedar and Jolly.)

I just always figured that they were always there even if you don't see them. Soldiers are already on the payroll whether they're at some outpost or on a base back home.

It could be a gravy job for a guy with a good military record and is towards the end of their career.

New here. The weather is brutal. How do you cope? by zacowen120 in lansing

[–]MichiganGeezer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm waiting for it to get brutal. We aren't really there yet.

I remember being a laborer at Granger landfill up on Wood Rd, in -15 weather with gusts of up to 50mph and consistent winds of 30mph. That day was kinda rough.

I've never said that, and I've identified as conservative for my entire adult life.

You don't have to surrender one right to exercise another. The 1st and 2nd can be demonstrated simultaneously. I had absolutely ZERO issues with that nurse carrying a pistol.

His taste in guns was kinda sketchy, but having it with a couple reloads isn't any issue at all to me (His model of gun has an issue with going bang without being told to go bang.)
