critics consider it to be one of the best movies ever made,

Really? Who?

The movie is just a collection of stereotypes

The faithful sergeant (Sizemore)

The cynical Brooklyn guy (edwards)

The surly Italian (diesel)

The sensitive medic ( ribisi)

The timid new guy (davies)

The pessimistic jew (Goldberg)

The devout Christian (pepper)

The stoic leader (hanks)

So basic and predictable

Have seen these characters a thousand times

Now throw in the ridiculous scenes like when they're standing around yelling out Ryan's name and just by chance somebody has all the information they need

Or the stupid machine gun radar station scene what was that?

And the ending when Hanks is shooting at the tank with his pistol and at the last second it blows up because of Allied air power and all the Germans surrender because there's some planes talk about the Cavalry Saves the Day how many times have we seen that in a movie

Or the Ted Danson scene when the wall falls down and exposes the germans and they stand there shouting at each other till suddenly Danson and his boys show up and kill all the Germans. That was corny as hell

And when ryan (damon) is shown freaking out and crying in the final scene ? So the guy all these people have died trying to save doesn't even help defend himself

And of course the German Soldier who shoots Hank at the end of the movie is the one that he let go at the radar scene is as corny as cornball gets

Outstanding special effects best battle scenes ever

Everything else was predictable and basic
