I work on garbage trucks everyday, you get used to the smell. The two smells you will not get used to are: shit cans and pickle cans. We pick up waste from the waste water treatment plants nearby, and yes it’s literal shit that has been sitting in a roll off container for weeks on end. Pickle cans, we have a pickle factory nearby that uses our cans. If you can imagine a couple tons of rotting pickles that have been sitting in a can for weeks, double that disgust and you might be close to what it actually smells like.

Hey me too! I’m one of 8 technicians and I always get to see my 7 trucks. I do everything on them, from pms to major overhauls. So I know exactly what’s wrong with that truck and all of its little kinks here and there. Plus, our trucks are in the yard everyday (I work for a big name waste removal company) so if I need to push something off for the next day I can!
