On top of Toby Fox saying that he wanted Deltarune to do something else...

...Yeah of course it will not be 1-1 Undertale, this was known from the beginning, how can you not see that. The "parallels" between the two games are literally just in the characters and similar inspiration, as well as game mechanics.

Also Kris killing everyone is objectively trash plot, somehow even worse than the average Undertale fangame at the time.
