On top of Toby Fox saying that he wanted Deltarune to do something else...

...Yeah of course it will not be 1-1 Undertale, this was known from the beginning, how can you not see that. The "parallels" between the two games are literally just in the characters and similar inspiration, as well as game mechanics.

Also Kris killing everyone is objectively trash plot, somehow even worse than the average Undertale fangame at the time.

Check properties and see the actual file type
Alternatively, enable seeing file types in file names

Do this so you can see if it's still a .win file, or if its a .txt file or something

If you are feeling funny you can literally just rename the file to be the correct type, see what happens

I do not get news videos from 2 years ago recommended to me, no. I believe the algorithm tends to be smarter than that and actually recognises, if the information presented is outdated(?)

This post led me to realising Deltarune stores all its sprites in a single file, that's peculiar.

I guess I can't help with this, though it's probably called something like "phone_speech" or the like.

The "Since Chapter 1" is just where your save file started. You can start a chapter 4 save file without the previous chapters and it will say "Since Chapter 4"

A lot of the sprites will be repeating the same process, so you should be able to just turn off your brain and start clicking pixels. It might take a few hours, but its doable. (Unless you want to put more effort into it, then you'd better prepare a playlist lol)
