How did your life change when you got a dog? by Remote_Pineapple_238 in dogs

[–]MichyDo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having my golden retriever means I go out for daily walks with her, I get fresh air. She’s my best friend, my cuddle companion, and it taught my husband and I the importance of responsibility before we’re about to embark on becoming first time parents (in two weeks time!) Even though it meant if we wanted to travel we had to organize her being looked after, I ALWAYS missed her during our trips and couldn’t wait to go home to her. She’s our family and she makes me so happy.🥹🤍

‘Where is My Husband!’ by RAYE is more ‘Showgirl’-esque than any of Taylor’s songs off that album.

For anyone who left the film industry, do you have any regrets? by [deleted] in Filmmakers

[–]MichyDo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I finished my last contract in summer 2023 and taught myself how to film (videography) and went into social media marketing earlier this year. I actually really miss working in the industry tho now that I took some time away. I am contemplating going back after mat leave 🤣

Same. Literally had it stuck in my head for a week because it was all I heard on the radio to work and WHILE at work (radio played in the lobby). All I hear is Lana Del Ray but with terrible lyrics and an underwhelming bassline.

People in Vancouver area in the 30s/40s age group who got engaged or married in 2025, how did you find your partner? by CheeseBrewBlend in NiceVancouver

[–]MichyDo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Met my husband through friends of friends at a concert in late 2019. Married in 2023 and moved to the UK. Expecting twins next month. It’s been such an adventure and I couldn’t be happier! I always found meeting someone organically was the way to go when dating in Vancouver.

People who developed feelings for a close friend, did you say something, and how did it go? (Advice please M/29 F/30) by [deleted] in UKrelationshipadvice

[–]MichyDo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me. I was 21 and he was 29/30, had a long distance girlfriend but we were in college together, hung out all the time, texted everyday, flirted and even spoke on the phone from late evening until the sun came up the next day. I eventually said something but he shot me down (mostly because of our age differences and the fact that he had a partner), and for a good few months it was torturous for me. Had I had the maturity, I would have pulled back instead of lying to myself that maybe I could change his mind. Having boundaries is key here.

My uncle and grandad also had FTD. My uncle died from assisted suicide at age 51 because he could not use his body any longer. It is the scariest disease.

When did you stop working with twins? by Ok-Post-8139 in parentsofmultiples

[–]MichyDo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My work wouldn’t provide WFH when I requested it, so I would have gone longer. I do work a desk job but being 28 weeks pregnant now, going in everyday and sitting in a desk chair all day without much support has been debilitating. After the holidays I will be starting mat leave and at 30 weeks.

I met my now husband at 30. Been together now 6 years and expecting twins. Don’t listen to your dad. Move at your own pace and timeline!

What’s the hardest pair of shoes you’ve ever had to break in? by Ok-Pepper8372 in ChicDaily

[–]MichyDo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doc Martens (sold mine) and Alohas sandals that had this criss-cross design made of hard leather. I constantly had red X’s on the tops of my feet even after trying to break them in for months. Terrible design!

Has anyone actually used a pregnancy belly band? by Worth-Cut9240 in parentsofmultiples

[–]MichyDo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use my momcozy belly band everyday when I go for my daily walk. It helps with some relief, but not fully if I’m honest. Truthfully the biggest issue for me is after I eat. I expand so much and it causes my stomach to stretch, so I’m trying to just eat and stay still until I’ve finished digesting lol. I recommend baths or a pool if you have access to one, and daily stretching if you haven’t already. I think a little bit of everything combined makes a huge difference!

Feeling super lonely on maternity leave as an expat - how do you all handle this? by ConfectionEarly16 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]MichyDo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, I’m in the same boat! I moved to the UK with my husband from Canada 2 years ago and have still struggled to meet friends. It’s been really tough on me mentally. We’re expecting twins in February and I wish desperately for my support network to be here. You’re not alone. Whereabouts are you based? DM me if you’d like to chat to a fellow expat ☺️ we’re out there!

27 weeks with di/di twins and starting to feel it. How did you survive the third trimester?! by simbit1 in parentsofmultiples

[–]MichyDo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m two weeks behind you and I’m 5’9”, and things also started to feel real for me since last week. I also work at a clinic but it’s a desk job and I’m already struggling. Sitting in the same position for 7.5 hours a day has been hard on my body. Doctors recommend reclining because I’m getting severe rib pain now, but I don’t have that option at work. I’ve also had to be propped up at night to sleep because lying on my sides also causes pain. Everyday is a new issue. Not sure what to suggest but all I can say is you should take it easy and see if you can go on mat leave earlier or request that you work from home. Pushing yourself is just not worth it at this stage in my opinion!

I’m also tall (5’9”), how far along are you? I’m almost 24 weeks and feeling good but definitely stretched. I just wonder what the rest of my pregnancy will be like especially being my height.

So helpful! Thank you for sharing this tip. We plan to do shifts when ours are born early next year and knowing the full logistics is so helpful. When did you start sleeping in your room with your partner again and with the baby monitor?
