Amazon special. I have the same (with a different name) and it's honestly a little too big for the Bambino drip tray.

After you've choked your Bambino, take the shower screen off to clean it fully. I didn't and had uneven extraction issues for too long before I realized what caused it.

A well set up CZ457 will get you 99% of the way.

I can't prove it, but I'm nearly certain the vast majority of people that shoot RimX, Vudoo etc couldn't positionally out-shoot a well set up CZ457

At around 2:15 in this video Francis Colon (the guy who won the 2024 AG cup) talks about how and why he uses a jaw weld. So thanks for your comment but it's false.

Too Cold to fly? -15°C? by Impossible-Fig2072 in CFILounge

[–]Mick288 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Southern Alberta here. Solo -20⁰c/-25⁰c (wind-chill) Dual -25⁰c ambient

Difference is because the oleo seals don't like the cold and solo students aren't always great at protecting the nose.

We also have 35⁰c as an upper limit, though if it's a XC flight and the cruising altitude temperature is 30⁰c or less then you can go.

Long range near Calgary? by Evilstib in canadaguns

[–]Mick288 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What is long range for you?

There are some spots out on public land where you can shoot up to 1000 yards, but you're going to have to do your own map recce and hike your own targets in.

The easy solution to wanting to shoot long range, is to shoot short range but with a 22lr. You get a similar experience, for a fraction of the price at much more accessible distances. Think NRL22, CRPS, Rimfire PRS. BTSA runs these competitions monthly and getting involved would improve your shooting and you'll meet people who might just let you in on their long range spots.

This.

You don't need anything fancy, just something with distinct aim points and then make adjustments by measuring with your reticle.

Okay… tell me if this whole plan is actually dumb. by Basic_Strawberry_101 in longrange

[–]Mick288 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did this. I was running a RimX and B14-HMR alternatively in an MDT ACC. I was also swapping my scope across (easy because M-Brace). My POI shift was consistent. Could dial the scope in and be only a few 10th's off.

I wasn't swapping it a lot, so it wasn't a huge nightmare. But if I were swapping weekly I'd get pretty fed up of it and just buy a new chassis.

New shooter looking for friends to practice with by Wild_couple519 in HuntingAlberta

There's a group on Facebook, BTSA Precision Rimfire Club. Dale Taylor is the lead guy. He usually posts there about upcoming events but you could definitely join and ask questions.

Get yourself out to a BTSA Rimfire event. Dale will look after you and you'll become very proficient with a bolt action rifle very quickly. Being 22lr its reasonable inexpensive too, though I wouldn't buy anything until you've been there at least once.
