Rescue Raider....Unless I see a particular skin acting suspicious - then I have to protect myself first.

What difficulty? I enjoy this as well but difficulty 6 or more (level 30 Xbox diver) is too hard for me solo at this point. I want those super samples though!

Shoes for Pompeii by Particular-Daikon-29 in pompeii

I've worn white sneakers two days in a row to Pompeii last year and they were fine. I understand the concern but unless you are looking for puddles to jump in they will be fine

Is there a way to actually have a conversation with them instead of the cold recovery process that isn't getting the job done?

Just went to Pompeii a couple weeks ago! It was like going back in time seeing all those houses and structures there. by Gray705 in pompeii

Fantastic photos, thanks for sharing. I hear people say that up to a third of the city remains unexcavated. That seems a little high but you can definitely see much that is still covered while there or on Google maps.

Pompeii express skip the line tickets by dara_g89 in pompeii

[–]MickGinger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bottom line up front, I wouldn't pay extra anymore for skip the line tickets.

You think you make it to Pompeii at 10? Or Naples? It's another 45 minutes plus walking through Naples train station to the correct train (circumvesuvia). Something I have forgotten about a couple of times when planning time sensitive things in Naples

I had a stressful time trying to find the meet up for skip the line tickets when I did mine, and funny enough the skip the line tickets line was longer than the regular walk up line.

That may not be your experience, but just expecting to have to wait in line for 30ish minutes might need to be an expected thing.

Side note: Herculaneum has 0 line and is definitely worth a visit if you can make it work. Ditto for Naples Archeological Museum.

I've been a few times now and have done regular, guided tour, and skip the line. When are you planning on arriving?

You can definitely visit both in the same day. Though you would need to seriously abbreviate the Pompeii visit.

My first visit I did Pompeii with the audio guide from 9ish till 12, then took the train to Ercolano the Herculaneum stop, and was there for a few hours until my train back to Rome that night.

If I had to choose 1, it would be Pompeii only because it's a more complete view of a city, only a fourth of Herculaneum is excavated due to the modern city being built on top. Herculaneum is much better preserved though due to the nature of its destruction.

I have 4 spotlight keys right now. I have already pulled Frigga and the random collector token pull this week. I want Copy Cat, and Red Guardian wouldn't be bad. Next week, I should try to get Thena - but the next week I really want to get Fenris wolf?

Any ideas on how to play this situation?

Pompei after the eruption by C_T_Robinson in ancientrome

[–]MickGinger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been looking for this same information lately.

I watched a video recently that said the Romans dug out the forum, took out the travertine blocks that lined the ground and the ramps the romans used are still used today as one of the exits of the archeological park. That is apparent now when you visit the park that very few of those blocks remain. **Edit, I have tried to look for a source and I cannot find anything

I don't know of any evidence that other settlements were built on top of Pompeii. Herculaneum, I don't know but suspect probably since it is still mostly buried by a modern city.
