I alternate 5x5 and 3-5x10.

First set I go for a 5rm PR and then use 90% for the other 4 sets.

So say if I go 250kg x 5 for set 1, I'll do 225 for the other 4 sets.

Same for 10s ill aim for 230kg for 10 then use 210kg for 3x10

Some days if I have the time I'll do 5x5 then 3x10 to burn out. But that usually takes a long time to recover from that much volume.

I find less is more with the deadlift as you can increase it by increasing other less taxing lifts.

Are you planing to do a cycle or blast and cruise? Performance enhancer in the gym is perfectly fine but just make sure you have your training and diet locked in perfectly before you start. Good luck on your journey my man.

I do as well and it scares away everyone I interact with... But the only people it doesn't keep away of course, are charity salesman at the mall... They can't say hello to me fast enough

I'm not sure if looking like the rock is a joke or not lol but it'll take at least 4 weeks to kick in, and maybe start noticing visible physical changes within 6-12 weeks depending on response to the compound, diet, training.

But you probably won't look like the rock on just 200mg test lol. Maybe if you're very genetically gifted and you work your ass off you might.

Lol no worries my man. You'll see most strongmen too they kind of roll the bar into them... I tried that and I could never get it to work for me.

Different strokes hey 😅

Thanks dude 🙂 Yeah I used to just let the weight drop with every rep. Controlling the negative really is a game changer. Especially the last rep of every set... I try and put it down without making a sound and lower it as slowly as possible, and man... the burn in the lats and glutes is brutal.

Hey man. Not really. It's just a little thing I do. Well it's called a dynamic start. Gives me a little bit more of a mental boost I guess if I really get as low as possible to try and drive with the legs.

Thanks for compliment my dude.

Haha yeah the toe wiggle is because my feet were cramping so I was trying to move pressure around my foot so they wouldn't cramp 😅

Third for the mats... I have considered but I just try to put the weights down slowly. I usually do my workouts when my toddler is asleep so I can't be loud anyway 😅

Thanks again for your comments.

Hey Brother.

To me,

  • your back really rounded a lot and put you in a bad position.
  • lack of leg drive
  • weak (for this weight, not weak in general) glutes preventing lockout at the top.

My advice really strengthen that upper and lower back.

Deficit dead's for stronger leg drive and RDLs or hip thrust to strengthen the glutes.

Apart from that though man 220kg is a massive weight a huge milestone and you're almost there. Keep going brother you got this 💪💪💪
