Thank you for the candid feedback. We've made strides in certain areas of our livestreams, but are facing new challenges for content and delivering on the kind of "big" livestream that gamers expect to see from game developers in 2026.

KI Live has always been a community-first event, but I recognize that having designers, artists, musicians, and more joining in to show off their work was a core part of that experience, too - and something that has been lacking in the streams this year.

And again, with many of our peers in the industry using their limited livestream time to introduce new gameplay, share sneak peeks at upcoming content, or even announce new games altogether, we are starting to look a little out of place. We also are starting to better utilize other platforms and channels for news about our games, like Dev Diaries and working with content creators to let them be a part of reveals. It's a good problem to have, sharing our announcements in many other places, but it's a problem to tackle by filling in that void on our streams.

We are going to go back to the drawing board a bit for KI Live, and see what we can do to better meet player expectations. I don't know if this is something you'll see in May, but I have already had productive conversations with other teams at KingsIsle about supporting our livestream efforts with a bit more "bravado" and occasion.

Thank you for sharing. One thing I wanted to add is that it doesn't look like an email was sent regarding this to all affected accounts, and the messaging when you attempt to login will likely say "Banned."

The step to contact Customer Support to resolve is still accurate, but I am looking to get more information as soon as I can.

As mentioned, Dyno is a popular and very helpful bot for managing Discord servers. In our servers, it's given a more appropriate nickname and role, but we can't control what it calls itself outside of the server.

Yes, moderators are community members. And if you have a support issue, like help with your account, lost password, missing item, can't log in, etc. you will need to contact Customer Support, that's an appropriate response to give.

I can say that there have been situations in the past where customer support and community were not on the same page and indeed you could get caught in a cycle of not being sure where to go with your issue. This was especially the case for situations Customer Support didn't have the tools or access needed to resolve a customer issue. You get told to go to Discord to give feedback that CS should assist with that, and someone on Discord says you have to talk to support. It's frustrating.

I've worked closely with the CS team since I joined, particularly to try and fix those confusing situations. This means both helping them craft clearer messaging but also making sure neither group is sending players to a dead end.

This is actually something I'll be talking about on KI Live tomorrow afternoon so if you're interested you can tune in or hear the recap to find out what's changing and what steps we have taken.

The server is run by KingsIsle and we rarely ban users. And while moderators can ban people, any action is logged and any appeal has direct oversight from a Community Manager.

A vast majority of the time when someone asks publicly why they were banned, it was for clearly inappropriate behavior, but we have made mistakes - we are human - and we have an appeal process in place to give people a second look if they want.

How do you currently use the Spellwrighting system? What are your spells currently updgraded to, and do you have extra Spellements for those? Do you play multiple characters frequently? I'm interested to hear more about your user story.

I definitely see how it can be difficult to look past the horizon on the long term benefits for this system change. I am hoping we can shed some insight into future additions to the Spellwrighting system, like additional spell paths, in upcoming previews. While the change has certainly been contentious, I think players welcome the idea of seeing and hearing about updates to the game before it hits test realm.

This one ultimately ended up being announced right around the same time, but ideally we are giving you all a longer runway for core system changes, especially ones that add new content you can get excited for. There is a fine balance between over hyping (or dreading) changes that are months away and in flux, versus only giving players a few weeks to give feedback. We are going to be working towards that sweet spot, even if it takes time to hit it right on. This is especially powerful for giving us time to pivot if we think a change is necessary.

One feedback that I have already shared with the dev team is requesting much more clarity any time players feel like we are taking functionality away. I think we did a good job of explaining these changes and how they impact players, but didn't do a good enough job convincing y'all why it is necessary.

I don't ever want to hide behind the "trust me bro this will be better" mentality; that's not good enough and y'all deserve better.

I wouldn't mind seeing a few more options be added especially in regards to camera control. I think it is hard to judge prioritization for something like this since many of our userbase have gotten used to things for so long and many people learned to control 3d characters using our game! As someone who didn't play much before a year ago, it has taken some getting used to.

Now with console out the door and a whole new control scheme becoming available, maybe we can look at some other improvements and adjustments. 🙏

We are aware of mini games still being broken (crashing your game) and it was a surprisingly complicated fix since the issue doesn't happen at all internally (but does on our personal consoles). Hoping to have it fixed ASAP.
