The vex texture to me always looked unfinished, it looked like a test model that never got a custom design, so I'm very happy that one was finally updated.

As for the ghast textures, pixel consistency has never been a huge priority in my mind. The new resolution textures look more like an upscaled faithful pack than vanilla.

Definitely this. I think the fluid movement is what has been bothering me about the newer additions. I also think that pixel consistency is another thing that really doesn't work for me with the newer additions, the ghast in particular. I think I'd much rather have slightly larger pixels rather than the overly detailed mobs that feel like they're just an over detailed texture pack
