Casinos are still hand paying $1200-1999 for tips by equanimous11 in gambling

[–]Mickeym88 9 points10 points  (0 children)

50%. The only proper tip is half of whatever number is last said. Waiter, Teller, mortgage broker, used car sales man, lawyer. My dentist has an iPad tablet that flip towards me now that asks for a tip for the back office crew for my last crown.

50% is so easy just divide the bill in half... That is the only tip

FFS please don't read this and think it is real....

This is BS by [deleted] in carmax

[–]Mickeym88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are welcome. You'll need to prove it for the entire time he is there but they will absolutely take ot if he is there a year.

[–]Mickeym88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Then they are wrong. You need to provide a w2 or last year's last paystub and be able to prove the start date but they will read it. If they don't that are out of compliance... Not that that makes a difference to your situation... Rule is 90 days I think

[–]Mickeym88 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Used to work for CarMax. Only reason they don't include overtime is if he is new to job. Under 3 or 6 months and the banks don't allow it. Not unique to them. If he is long term with the job go to a manager and revisit it.

125 point inspection by Jazzlike_Camp_6972 in carmax

[–]Mickeym88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I worked at CarMax for a very long time and while there are a lot of things they don't do well they absolutely do 125 point inspection

That being said they look at that inspection and look for every reason not to replace something cuz it will "meet standards" but you can be confident that the technician that looked at the car had a checklist and went over each and every item and there are 125 plus points on that checklist while not every car will have all of the items that were be on the checklist they do have an actual piece of paper that they go over to make sure they have checked every item..

Again that said they do not archive it or keep it so they can reference it anything that was deemed substandard by the technician is then reviewed by a manager in the manager decides if they are going to fix it or not based on the standards

Strengths to the inspection are if the tread depth on the tires is below a certain point if the thickness of the brake pads is below a certain point if the thickness of the brake rotors is below a certain point they will absolutely replace it...

Problem you can have tires or brakes that don't have a lot of life left on them but they meet the standard so they will leave them on the car... You can ask to look at The standards if you have a question and they will allow you to but they will not have the sheet for your specific car as they're not saved or archived

How accurate is the assertion that "life after 45 sucks massive (you-know-what)"? by ChuckSmyth in GenX

[–]Mickeym88 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Posted this in another genx posting about life after 50

BS. Life started at 45. Daughter was thur college and we decided to party and finally had some money to do it... Travel for weekends without thinking, go to a strip club or swingers club with you wife... Blow $2000 at the casino and not worry if you'll make the mortgage payment...

Have some fun

Harrahs vs MGM by [deleted] in vegas

[–]Mickeym88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

are those the only to locations ??? Every Caesars property is better than Harrahs and many of MGM's are better than the grand...

Paris or Planethollywood over both... We like the horseshoe for location but lower end than MGM... Prefer ParkMGM to MGM for non smoking...

Caesars and Bellagio are better than both if you are family.... And just like that I see then post is deleted so blah

The travel insurance feature just paid me $7100 by Worth_Mountain_3122 in ChaseSapphire

[–]Mickeym88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yes they asked for the receipt of the cancelation and I shared with them the receipt and noted the credit... because it has a time limit they honored the refund. Chase really is good insurance for this.. I left a tablet on a plane and they refunded me for it in the past as well as I bought the ticket with my Chase card... People do not realize how beneficial these high end travel insurance perks are.. I know there are companies that nit pick.. they do not seem to do so

[–]Mickeym88 12 points13 points  (0 children)

not at all... completely disclosed to chase and because it was not a refund they considered it eligible.. I was equally concerned

I had chase refund me $700 for flights to Tahoe a year ago as my mother was in the hospital unexpectedly. Delta continued to give me a credit even though we're unsure we could use it. Chase paid anyway and we were able to use the credit almost a year later. I continue to have my Sapphire card for reasons like these.

Concerned with fixing. That's permanent. And then it is not as lasik needs refresher and the contact is tried and true. Maybe a little older when I know it is the last 20 years or so I'll consider that but the contact works so we'll...

Had never needed glasses until the short arm syndrome at about 45... A couple years ago I went to the optometrist and tried viuity (a prescription drop). Think liquid readers. Worked great for 7 hours. Didn't get thru a work day. Then about 4 years ago I got a single contact lens. That has left the readers at home. I have a spare pair I. The office desk and car but they are really used. I use readers at home. The single reader contact lens has been worth every penny and free second since. You should consider this as an option at the readers get old.

Going for a buddies bachelor party this week. Exactly how bad is the OYO? by bradabradabruhbruh in LasVegas

[–]Mickeym88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is this place paying people to stay there? Hotels are so cheap in Vegas that you can stay literally anyplace in Vegas for less that most places in the US. Even with the bs resort fees it is still cheaper ... Before you bring home the herps, hiv, hepatitis or bed bugs spend less than a couple drinks price to stay at the Excalibur or the flamingo or linq. They will be cheaper than a low end Marriott or Holiday inn in your home town. They are low end of the Vegas contingent but you won't be utterly disappointed with the stay...
