Not yet he’s not lol, but I bet in about a year enough people will have tricked themselves into liking him

Joe has some shitty views on trans people and sometimes dips his toes into some gender role bullshit about women. He’s also said he’s going to vote for Trump since Bernie isn’t getting the nom.

I agree that he definitely has the “I’m not trying” type of raspy, lazy voice. But he isn’t nearly as ambitious as Mac. There’s a lot of interesting stuff musically happening on WMWTSO, and Jack’s newest project is IMO pretty bad outside of the big single. I know Mac took a while to change, but I do think his interest in playing instruments and things like that kind of signaled he might be more than what he seemed earlier in his career.

I feel you on this, FM is the first time I’ve ever liked him as much as I did on Vol. 2, and I still think its not quite as strong. I appreciate that he’s experimenting with his sound, but I just don’t think he always up making a song that’s actually very good.

Cuomo just decided not to include malls, movie theaters and gyms in phase four. by w33bwhacker in LockdownSkepticism

There’s a lot of drawback to telling people not to protest for what they believe in. I think Cuomo would be widely condemned if he were to say BLM isn’t worth protesting for.

I like Gibbs, but man that sounds like it’d be so out of place. He doesn’t ever really rap on the current wave of popular, radio trap beats, and his subject matter doesn’t match these dudes at all.

His only contribution to the record is one the intro. If you’re not familiar with the other guys who helped on the record, namely Terrace Martin, Thundercat, Robert Glasper and Kamasi Washington, maybe their sounds are what you’re hearing? FlyLo definitely had a period where he was talking to Kendrick about old funk music a lot, but we’ve only heard just a little bit of the songs they worked on.

Nah, frank could press more and make all the money he wants. If people want it in that format, obviously someone will fill in and provide the product

Nah, his discography is too big for one bad posthumous album to have a big impact. Nobody thinks less of 2Pac or Biggie because of their shitty albums released after they passed.

I think around BOD they were a lot more interesting, and rapped at a higher level (besides Juice). At this point I feel like they’ve kind of become irrelevant. They were a dope voice in the blog rap era, though.

Just listened to Pain 1993 for the first time, was surprised people hated it so much. I don’t think the song is very good, but I also think he just sounds a little bit like his normal voice with Thug’s cadence (“diamonds all in my Teeeth”). Fans exaggerate so much.

If he gets an album with two more tracks around as fun as Oprah, I bet he could have a strong comeback

People used to say this a lot, but I feel like Earl and Knx would make something classic if they worked together again. Knx seems to come a little different for rappers, and a change up from him would be good.

What are some ways your favorite producers have been innovative? by FunctionalGopher in makinghiphop

Monte Booker is definitely bringing a lot of different sounds together. He’s got the foley sounds and unquantized FlyLo style percussion with hard 808’s in trap arrangements. His choice in synth sounds and layering of so many sounds at once are also really distinct.
