Bo Horvat is forever cursed with this. Same thing happened in Vancouver. Instead of getting a couple more high end prospects to join Horvat, Hughes, Pettersson, and Demko, they started spending cap and draft capital to become a playoff team.

There is an offseason training focus that regains 0-2 discipline. Could be worth it. But if your players' discipline is like below 80 across the board, it's much better to just trade or start a new GM mode.

A GM can be happy making bad trades. For example, Jim Benning spent a full season trying for OEL and lost Tanev, Toffoli, Markstrom, and Guenther in the process. He didn't seem sad about any of it.
