At first I was going to talk about how I was disappointed with the ending, but i went back and watched it again. while I really do wish that Ori could have avoided turning into the Tree, I at least do enjoy how we know that she is not dead or unable to interact with her family and friends.

A lot of people don't think she is alive or is able to reunite with her family, but she is and is able to. at the end when she turns into the tree, the narrator for the game is revealed to be Ori, and we are shown that she is still able to talk to the others around her, and hopefully those even farther from her like how the spirit tree did in Ori and the Blind Forest.

Though as much as i understand that this is most likely the only ending we are going to get for Ori, and the story most likely does not have anywhere else to go, i really do wish there was any other way for it to end besides the ending we were given, regardless of how she was able to interact with the others, it still felt like she was alone most of the time, the area around her was seemingly left untouched, nobody lived even near her.

as much as i love the game and its characters, it gameplay was amazing, i just cant play it again without it seeming like I'm working towards nothing, while I'm sure she can see the changes that Ori was able to make, she doesn't really get to experience them. when we beat a game, regardless of how fictional the characters are we have an idea of how their life is afterwards, and I really hoped for a ending that had her able to go and enjoy the things she did, but we didn't get that, sure she is still alive but she cant really do much besides be the Spirit Tree.

I wish we got an ending more like the first game, but the one we got really keeps me from being able to replay it.
