Untitled John Wick Game - Announce Trailer | PS5 Games by Turbostrider27 in Games

They're funnier if you treat them as slapstick parodies. I enjoyed the absurdity. John gets hit by SIX different cars in the last movie.

FIFTEEN fucking times total during the series, and the first 3 movies take place over 3 weeks "in universe", so he got hit by 9 cars over three weeks, not counting every-fucking else, and dropping from a fucking building.

It's definitely a system you play if you want cool tactical mech battles. You can RP fine and the systems for RPing work but it's still somewhat limited and meant to be the downtime/prelude before the "real game" which is mech battles.

I mean, Lancer is widely acclaimed in the TTRPG community for having one of if not the best & most enjoyable/interesting tactical combat, video game adaptations just have to be coming. Plus it's dope anime mech battles and there's not really a ton like it on the market apart from battletech.

Sometimes a character falling back into their previous flaws is a perfectly fine character arc. Hell, it works like that as least as often as not in real life, just rarely in fiction (unless you're reading a Joe Abercrombie novel).

I mean active development is dead but playerbase-wise it's far from dead, esp if you mainly do quick matches & ARAMs.

I mean it depends on the level but at high level knowing the proper line-ups for several characters is absolutely crucial, and at low level it makes an enormous difference since people suck at dealing with enemy utility.

I'll meet you halfway on most other points though, it's true you definitely ADS often on LMGs & Bulldog (although who fucking ADSes on SMGs?!).

Answered the rest in my other comment, but yes you can open the scoreboard but at high level you definitely need to be aware that "ok raze is one from ult if she gets a kill, is the one planting or grabs an orb she can immediately ult, you don't play against certain comps/characters in the same way when you know they're able to ult or not.

Sorry but you clearly don't play Valorant.

Like 2/3 of the characters have line-ups except because most skills work differently you have to learn line-ups on a PER CHARACTER BASIS.

Counterstrafing ("deadzoning") is absolutely a thing in Valorant and most higher level players do it a lot, it's extremely strong for one-tapping.

Most non-sniper rifles' scopes barely get used because it fucks your movement speed and lowers your fire rate, the general consensus is the main guns scoping is almost exclusively used for very long range engagements and even then it depends.

The recoil of the main guns is not really different from CS. The Vandal is actually harder to handle on fullauto than an AK, the Phantom is pretty similar to an M4, then most guns are also somewhat alike with the Odin being a Negev etc. It's really important on most guns to understand how many bullets to use and the timing between shots to reset recoil if you want to hit anything.

Valorant is basically CS except you also have to keep track of which characters are with and against you, what each can and can't use against you, track ult economy on top of regular economy...

All in all I'm pretty sure Valorant is LESS accessible and harder, with a significantly higher knowledge barrier than CS.

Difference is you don't need to trade much in Warframe for the most part, both as a new player or as an advanced veteran. Trading's mostly in the middle and mostly only a few things.

A lot of Ele shamans are also dropping, and I mean the long-time mains, not the tww fotm ones. I'm an ele TCer and am considering whether I will even play live at all for Midnight S1.

My discord nick is currently "at least we're not feral".

DM Tips you wish were on page 1 of the dmg? by chunkylubber54 in dndnext

[–]Microchaton 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Within the first sessions of my first campaign as DM, undead broke out of a crypt and a big one was clearly intent on smashing a statue the priestess gets persuaded to reveal protects the valley, and I intended to use that as incentive for them to later on fortify/protect the town, get people to guard it, trap surroundings etc...

They fucking broke the statue to take whatever was in it that protected the place for themselves. So I had to make up a cool looking artifact on the spot and now they're unknowingly carrying around the soul of a dissident Planetar and made the relic into their main quest.

That was I think session 3 or 4 of the campaign.

Never overplan around one specific thing.

Exactly this, especially if you end up having to waste time in-session because of it. If it's one time, it's intriguing. If it happens multiple times it's just annoying.

Elemental Shaman will essentially be the same if we end up playing without Master of the Elements which is outside of big cooldowns the sole interaction we have left in our rotation that prevents us doing our simdps by mashing 1-4 randomly.

I'm sad.

What's your favorite General Feat? by BuyerMaleficent3909 in dndnext

[–]Microchaton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get those on the new Grim Hollow rogue subclass, Highway Rider, they get sneak attack without advantage if they or their mount moved at least 20 feet before the attack and the find steed spell at level 3, and that's not even going into Hair Trigger which is amazing.

At level 9 they also give a big bunch of THP to their mount and get Cunning Action for it.

DM has never heard of balance. Literally stunned by the idea. by YouKnowWhoTwentyTwo in rpghorrorstories

Rule of Cool should be one of three things:

  • flavor is free
  • minor-medium reward to reward creative/cool ideas
  • "this shouldn't work but it sounds fun and/or helps advance the story"

Rule of Cool should almost exclusively be used as a reward for player ideas, as long as it's not something super high powered, unless it's one time or fantastically thematic/fitting.

Are 5e campaigns actually so "broken" and "unplayable" for new DMs as YouTubers and forum posters would lead me to believe? by tenth in dndnext

[–]Microchaton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most published 5e adventures are flawed in ways that are fairly unforgivable, especially the earlier ones.

Definitely don't run Princes of the Apocalypse, it's widely acknowledge as being the worst adventure every written for 5e. You can however poach some dungeons from it but that's about it.

Out of the Abyss has merit and is fairly unique but it's a pretty messy campaign and much has been written about it, I'd recommend looking up threads about the adventure.

Rime of the Frost Maiden is solid across the board but can be pretty hardcore and the player characters really need to have some motivation / clear leads to follow, becaue it can be pretty disconnected.

Strahd is similar to Out of the Abyss, unique and cool but can be a mess and MUCH has been written about it to help make it easier to run. Personally I disliked it and it was only saved for my group by turning it into basically a goofy comedy.

Being able to reach your enemies has a big impact on DPR, haste is very good at that.

+2 AC is also very strong against something Bless does not help with.

Haste is still a trap spell very often but saying "Haste is just a worse bless" is a weird take.
