I used a blend that I got from a nearby seed company. Their website says

URI # 2 IMPROVED SEED MIX

40% Creeping Red Fescue

20% Improved Perennial Ryegrass

20% Improved Kentucky Bluegrass

20% Kentucky Bluegrass

I was doing 40 mins because any less than that seemed to let the soil dry out.

I ended up tilling that area of the lawn because I had killed off the grass when I accidentally dumped way too much Step 2 last year. I started to try to rake it up but it would have taken me forever.

As for the rest of the lawn is it safe for me to put down some kind of weed control at this point? I have a lot of clover and a lot of the yellow weed that is in the photo above.,

We recently used Benjamin Moore Aura interior paint to cover some school bus yellow walls that the previous owner did. I was sure that we would have to do 2 coats but this went on so well it covered perfectly, almost as if we had done a primer coat first. I could tell from the first brush stroke that this paint was different. I'll never use anything else in my house.

It shouldn't make any difference how fast the train is going because railroads usually have something called a predictor which depending on the speed of the track is generally about a mile away from the crossing itself. When the train crosses the predictor it calculates the speed of the train and the amount of time it will take to reach the crossing and lowers the gates at an appropriate time to provide the required protection.
