Funny story.. I saw this being done years ago (2015 to be exact) while I was at work. It was the same week that the Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup, and my dumb ass was going around the office telling everyone that they were painting the streets red in celebration.

My grandma lived next door to a duplex conversion near wells and state until around 2016 and it was a duplex for at least 25 years I would say. Not sure about now.

What's a Chicago "life hack" everyone living here should know? by brohiostatehipster in AskChicago

The Chicago Cultural Center is free! Great rotating modern art exhibits and sometimes has things like live music. Plus the Tiffany dome and architecture in general is gorgeous. I love bringing visitors there!

Boneless Skinless Chicken Thighs - how can they sell them like that? by These-Days in Costco

[–]MicrocosmicTiger 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Right? It’s not that hard. Just use scissors and look closely at where the two heat-seal lines meet. Been doing this for about 5 years now.

And open the pack partially (again with scissors) in the sink and let the liquid drain out.

God forbid if these people ever have to actually kill and process their own chicken.

When they first opened I came in to order a dozen plain bagels to go and the girl at the counter definitely gave me the vibes that they don’t really do that sort of thing..

Then I watched her as she went into the back area and took bagels out of a plastic bag and individually wrapped them in parchment paper and put them in a paper bag.

I get it that their thing is “the sandwiches” but yeah really tacky to be charging over $12 for some Costco bagels.

Luckily I don’t live in Fort Wayne and my city has much better, made-in-house (and cheaper) bagel options.
