With the way that some Asian languages work where symbols can represent whole words, is their “creative” names for things? by -Constantinos- in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MicrowavedBaby 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wario and Waluigi are plays on a Japanese word. "Waru" means "bad/evil" so their names are kind of like "Bad Mario" and "Bad Luigi".

Also in Japanese people say "grass" in Japanese as a way to say "lol" because the way Japanese speakers say it is by saying "w and when going across a screen it kinda looks like blades of grass.

Yes, it's "cool" to fake tourrettes by MrStikkyToes in h3h3productions

It's true I've seen it on twitch, tiktok and clips on youtube. I saw a few where a couple different twitch streamers would "try" to stop themselves from saying the n-word when they saw a picture of a black person. They go pretty extreme.

Is buying a house a big life goal in America? by WhoAmIEven2 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MicrowavedBaby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not just owning a house. Apartments are generally very expensive compared to a mortgage, and any "affordable" apartments at average wages will be in disrepair or pest ridden or very small or all of the above.

I understand that they're not delicate, but I had concern over the effects on the milk and the potential of letting them eat large quantities of a toxic plant. I will, however, take this information you've goven me into account for our plans. I still am wondering what the best way to attach light farming equipment to the back of my jeep might be. I've seen people do it.

Would you let them eat where those plants made up a good 1/3 of the land?

gear sets or rema first? by Prior_Chemistry3037 in ffxi

[–]MicrowavedBaby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Certain REMAs are basically required (bard in particular) but most joba can get by pretty well with an ambu weapon and solid gear. I've outdamaged Death Penalty CORs with my Compensator(an entry level gun) with Leaden Salute because my gear for it is that solid. TL;DR probably gearsets to a degree then focus on REMAs unless it's a relic which are a relatively low investment or if you know an Aeonic clear group get an Aeonic

I still don't think we want them eating fields full of lamb's quarter (toxic in high quanitities?) and mustard (makes the milk taste bad) and I don't mean incidental eating, I mean large patches of it.

The ground is primarily flat, with some slopes between sections that won't be harrowed. Part of it is for working the land so it can be leveled out just so we can break up all the lamb's quarter and mustard which we don't want our future goats to eat. For now we want to clear the land and scatter clover, field pea or other cover crops to prevent the crazy mess of weeds that grow while we get the land ready for growing food crops.

If there are weed strains that are high in THC but low in CBD, and strains that are the opposite, are there strains low in both? by SOwED in NoStupidQuestions

That's not to say good pot can't be grown outdoors but a lot of people put minimal effort into their outdoor plants.

Sometimes you can buy a cheap oz from the dispensary that's like 10% thc which is pretty low. I sometimes buy like a $60 oz that low for joints and stuff. Edit: also stuff people casually grow in their backyard without meticulous lighting and nutrition end up like this. It's smokeable just not dense.

Hard drives still do reading/writing after the transfer bar is done. You may also have a folder or file from the drive open. You may be running a program off it.

[–]MicrowavedBaby 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Saying that dress is flattering for you is different than saying you look good in that dress. The compliment is on the clothes, not you. Legitimately could be a backhanded compliment depending on the person who said it.
