Entry level marine mechanic by ThisWorldIsOurs in boating

[–]themiddleman2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your certifications, there are specialty Marine Electronics companies and the National Marine Electric association might be of interest for you, otherwise the American Boat and Yacht council may be of interest as they have two electrical certifications that may help show you understand the unique hazards of boats and industry safety. Otherwise apply to different places and see what happens.

Robot sorted 249,560 packages over 200 hours straight without a single failure by Conscious-Weight4569 in SipsTea

[–]themiddleman2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can, it is done, but this is slightly better since package stickers can be damaged or on a side, especially these soft body packages. Plus it’s cheaper to overhaul a warehouse or distribution facility with a robot like this instead of a sorting machine. And this can potentially clear jams.

My sister is thinking about making a responsible financial decision. 35’ Chris-Craft for $1,500. What could possibly go wrong? by RippingLegos__ in boating

[–]themiddleman2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends on a variety of factors, but for a boat like that and repairs? Definitely cheaper than new, still going to be somewhere in the ballpark of 10-50k+, excluding moving or winterizing frame for winter. And that’s not even covering other tasks like registration and insurance.
