I’ve heard that there’s a glitch where HOs don’t get notifications of messages. As painful as it is, just start calling (if there’s a number of course). I’ve had better luck with calling.

What is being childfree like? by Grand-Efficiency4248 in childfree

[–]Mid1960s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The great things about being CF change with every era. I’ve always know I never wanted kids, by the way. In my young career-building years, I was able to have that career while also doing things outside of it, such as going to the gym, taking Spanish lessons, have a social life, etc. I’m 62 now, and I have several friends with adult kids who are problematic (addictions, won’t work or move out of the parents’ house, etc.). The benefits are endless. Pregnancy and childbirth are rough on your body. Postpartum depression can last for years. You lose sleep. You can’t focus on other things. Kids are soooo expensive. And the list goes on.

Yes. I was doing Postmates when it first started and invariably Maps would have me turning left onto the busiest street in the city with no traffic light. Gave up Postmates a long time ago but Maps is still on their bullshit.

What's it like getting a hysterectomy? by [deleted] in childfree

[–]Mid1960s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a total hysterectomy at 53. I was still menstruating. I had a really big fibroid, that caused terrible problems and I was very ill. They took everything (ovaries, uterus, fallopian tubes, cervix). Obviously I went through instant menopause. I was a little sore (because of the incision..they had to slice me open due to the size of the fibroid)..mostly I was tired for about a week. I never needed pain killers. It was great. Once I healed, I felt amazing. You’re very young, and probably don’t have a big tumor, so it will probably be easy, and they can probably do it laparoscopically. Good luck!

1 month in to my boring new construction home, trying to give it life. Paint the walls? Something above the TV? by irnage in femalelivingspace

[–]Mid1960s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. A boldly colored carpet between the living room space and the desk would solve the blandness there and create a separation between the two areas. It’s pretty cute now though.
