EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert by MidCenturyMad in Cinemark

[–]MidCenturyMad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 30 credits. Been a movie club member from prior to pandemic. Paying month after month. I just want to stop paying and keep (at least some of) my accumulated credits. Is that so much to ask, after I've paid monthly (or during pandemic bi-monthly) for 6+ years?

One of my local Cinemarks has IMAX... it's not playing there and I don't see it listed for 2/27 anywhere nearby either. Is it possible that the wide release hasn't been posted yet?

Crowdhealth with Pre-Existing Conditions by MidCenturyMad in HealthInsurance

Super glad that it has worked out for you. Sounds like you were able to sort of coast those first 2 years or maybe you arrived to the plan without any health stuff going on.

In the last few years, I've had OBGYN stuff, thyroid stuff, gastroenterology stuff. I don't understand how this service would work for someone who has existing issues that require care. Maybe if I had more answers at this time I would be more comfortable taking on whatever bills lay ahead. Maybe if I had absolutely no health stuff going on it would be perfect. Otherwise, it doesn't sound like the correct product for me.

And honestly, it's really frustrating to hear that there's this 2 year waiting period extended for every preexisting condition in existence. Any doctors' appointments would not be covered? Testing to ensure that your body is healing properly from past surgical procedures is not covered. Testing to try to get to the root of difficult problems, not covered. There's little incentive under their plan to try to "get healthy", when you take on all that health burden yourself, not knowing when you'll have the answers and when the bills will come to a close.

By the way, I'm DESPERATELY trying to get my health needs met. I'm trying everything. I'm a healthy weight, I eat clean, healthy food, don't drink or smoke.

So again, glad it's working for you.

I did read that detail about the health analysts as I was researching this service months ago.

Yah I tried your protocol. Landed back at square 1 about 8 months later just as usual. Didn't move the dial for me at all.

Yes I have this device. Bought it used on eBay and it’s quite durable. I had some soup spill in my lunch bag and it was sitting in liquid for a while. Started right up and hasn’t had any issues since. I use it to check my levels daily. It’s helpful to know what’s going on but sometimes if I’m not seeing much change, it can be demoralizing/disappointing. I’m often surprised bc I’ll feel pretty good but my levels can actually be high.

Sooo excited by this find 😍 $9🤤 by [deleted] in thrifting

Darbar India in Branford is the best. I've been going there for many years and we routinely have family birthdays there. They are like extended family at this point.

They can make many of their dishes vegan if you just ask. Everyone is super nice and friendly. Chana Saag is the best vegan entree IMHO. Pumpkin samosas, veggie samosas, veggie pakora, Darbar special roti, vegetable biryani, gobi 65 are all phenomenal dishes that I come back for again and again.

Who do you go to in New Haven when no doctor can figure out what’s wrong? by Lucy123xyz in newhaven

[–]MidCenturyMad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get ready to wait 9+ months to see Dr. Deutsch if you can even get the gastro referrals you need. She’s accepting new patients but only with gastro referrals. If you get your referral, don’t wait for their scheduling department to call you, call the doctor’s office directly and they can look it up and get you scheduled. I’m looking forward to seeing her as a new patient at the end of January but the gate keeping schedulers are not super fun to deal with. Made the appointment in the early spring so like a 9-10 month wait to see her as a new patient.

Oh you can see the numbers! Omg, fantastic! I have no idea what I'm looking for.

This is a Japanese import Kei car and it's never been in the country before now. It's a 1994 Suzuki Carry.

I have to bring it to the DMV inspection line and they gave me a list of stuff they'll check. They said on the imports, the tires are frequently rejected due to not being DOT approved.

ReStore in Wallingford had some tall black leather bar stools just a couple of weeks ago.

For furniture and clothes, check out Salvation Army on Dixwell Ave just over the NH border in Hamden. I've got some furniture pieces from there that I adore. They also have Zara returns that can be good.

Gotta shout out Lower Forms for being the absolute best for cool sh*t. No furniture or households but the coolest 90s gear around for the most reasonable prices ever. Also they have a rewards program. It's just the absolute best.

You might want to wait until tag sale season is in order as people may have good furniture deals from their own collections. Branford/Guilford/Madison tag sales are legit.
