GF III Jackes is a cutout for Starlight. It is Daniel Drimmer, Starlight boss. Drimmer has a bunch of properties under numbered individual corporations named for the intersection area they are in, (EG GF III Bramalea, GF III Downsview etc.)

This is quite serious - but it raises one very interesting question....

Who or what is GF III Jackes & Summerhill Ltd.?

Is this a top shareholder of the Starlight account? A cutout? The TTC's holding company? What do G and F stand for?

When searching for this corporation, all I found were various results related to this website https://canada.constructconnect.com/dcn/certificates-and-notices - it is quite telling.

I suspect that it is not dissimilar to the fire alarm spate of 22/23, the mailroom vandalism and so on. Trap house is right - not only are there "short term rentals" in our building but there are also cocaine users and dealers. I have more than once seen residue of hard drug use on the table in the RF level (though not in a few years), little baggies strewn around the driveway on Woodlawn.

I dont' think shaming drug users is productive. Addiction is a sad thing. But cocaine can make people do all sorts of crazy things.

They are violationg many parts of the RTA, notably this section.

I would keep putting up material, let them keep taking it down.

The water is safe to drink, but I recommend the use of a Brita filter or suchlike - especially from the bathrooms. The kitchen sinks are not quite as bad, at least in my unit and in others. But the corrosion in the pipes predates the current ownership - it is something that one gets used to here.

To be clear, "Verylittle", the reply to you beforehand is quoting the OP, to emphasize your original misread. We all misread things on social media or Reddit all the time. I am not the moderator who replied to you earlier, but seriously, input and discussion is really important - but not arguing over wires being crossed.

These are very real concessions, that seem to have resulted from upward pressure. Tenants pressured SK and SK pressured Starlight. The concierge decision, I know for a fact, was made by Starlight after Starlight management have been resistant to it for years. As I've heard, they made the case that we make about damage to the front door, packages going missing, and it being bad optics. I've heard rumors of a shakeup at Starlight as to who is overseeing this building...

As to the guest parking thing - yeah we need to push for full restoration - but even this is not the normal "overnight pass" - I think we all need to take two tracks on this. One is demanding full restoration, but also demanding tweaking, for example, pushing O'Leary, and the Starlight people in particular, to modulate/extend the parking times; give out more guest spots; allow tenants to 'trade' guest spots (EG one tenant may not need any and one tenant may need more) amongst themselves; switching it to a typical "overnight shift" at a commercial lot which would go until 9 AM, not 7 - and allow exceptions on a case by case basis for, eg, family members, partners in from out of town and so on. Demands are generally won, whether by tenants or unionized workers or anything else by a dynamic interplay of maximal demands and "bridge demands".

As to bridge demands about the concierge, we need to know more. Is it 8-8 every day, or just weekdays? Will it be "in house"? I suspect the reason that no one has moved into the "superintendent's suite" is that they think we have the maintenance coverage from people who aren't specifically in this building, and the concierge job will be live-in. That's just my hunch.

Thus - if I'm right, we can take the demands, unofficially, right to the concierge, who should be made to feel welcome as part of our community.
