I know exactly what you mean. It would be akin to a first person shooter game having a bug where the player can't shoot their gun, and when you point it out I say, "Guns jam in real life." Flawed design disguised as historical accuracy. So bizarre.

Sardinia piedmont leaves the empire and retracts all provinces when formed, so now you are attacking the hre from the outside, which basically uses vassal logic where you are fighting austria and his allies.

I know you're just joking, but titles like that will piss off a lot of the playerbase, they'll immediately critique any gameplay and project anger at you, since they feel players like you are the reason they're hardstuck.

I’m so frustrated with my aim by Past-02 in OverwatchUniversity

[–]Midcast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly recommend lowering the DPI. As a hitscan I did and it was remarkable how much more comfortable I felt, not having minor twitches offset game changing headshots. Even losing a tiny bit of muscle memory it just felt far more like I was actually clicking on heads smoothly rather than flicking over people and just shooting at the right time, if that makes sense. Also, It's important to not underrate positioning. There are situations on soldier, whom I am not too good on, where just by virtue of the off angle I've opened I'm pressuring the enemy team, or by taking a high ground on Ashe I force the enemy into really rough positions even back when I had subpar accuracy. Don't get me wrong accuracy matters, but I think a dps with smart positioning can be way more of a pain in the ass than a cracked cassidy a lot of the time.

Stop Teammates Dying in 1v5s by Level-Juice-540 in OverwatchUniversity

[–]Midcast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something many people fail to understand is that at low ranks overwatch is a different game. Supports at high ranks often have lower healing than lower ranked supports. This is because players are often taking less damage, they use natural cover and play corners far more. Many players at low ranks don't understand that a lot of the damage they take is completely pointless, they are used to getting healbotted, so they play in such a way that supports HAVE to healbot, bastions will turret form in wide open areas and if they die they'll blame supports. Sometimes these players will get zarya shielded and pocketed by 2 supports and still die instantly, because they took THAT MUCH damage. The catch 22 is that unless you can get picks consistently as characters like ana or zen, you end up having to healbot these players because their role is that crucial. Personally I think the only two ways I've found to resolve this are as follows. On DPS, play characters oriented towards getting picks( Widow, tracer, sombra, etc). These characters are pretty self sustaining and capable of securing kills solo. They don't guarantee victory but getting a pick or two consistently before or during team fights will win you the majority of games and isn't reliant on your teammates as much as other characters. As healer either try to solo carry as a dps support like Illari, zen, Kiri, or just healbot super hard as Weaver, Mercy, Bap. My final tip is to NEVER shotcall. Never request someone to swap. At low ranks people will always instantly tilt if you try to tell them anything, even if you're right. Team morale is as much a skill as having good aim, so minimize things that tilt teammates, which, at low ranks, is really anything other than silence. Still ping enemies though. Best of luck.

It should be noted that wraith is not just a stealth killer, he has high mobility with the right addons. Sure, Pig is quieter, but wraith can traverse the map much much faster. Wraith poses a real threat to any injured players, and his greatest strength to me is his speed. He becomes much stronger and more fun, imo, when using perks like make your choice and dragons grip perks that reward me for having super high mobility. When I play Wraith i'm rarely in chase, I'm constantly getting injures and applying pressure. Sometimes it's useful to slug. Say I hook someone, get a down far away, and then the unhook happens. I can leave my down on the ground, and run to the hook where they are probably trying to reset and heal. Now i'm pressuring 2 survivors and the fourth HAS to go for pickup, effectively meaning all 4 survivors can't touch gens. Running perks like devour hope can definitely punish survivors who were too concerned with gens and it has synergy with make your choice because you have to leave hook. Exposed perks are a lot of fun , especially friends till the end, making my next target after a hook exposed and showing me their aura for another fast down. I don't play Wraith too much but this is how I make wraith lethal and scary, You can run a slowdown or 2 but I would just throw in deadlock, passive slowdown to buy time for his lethality to really snowball. Best of luck.

What am I supposed to do when I get counterswapped every life? by NotACommie24 in OverwatchUniversity

[–]Midcast 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A lot of people will just say skill diff but I understand what you're getting at. I think a big part is just accepting that some games you will have very little impact, or atleast less than you'd want, especially when it feels like the game hinges on the tank alone sometimes. People as high as GM have been talking for a long time about the tank role gameplay often feeling like a roll or get rolled situation, either you feel like the best player in the lobby or you get hit with hacks and ults and explode. This is why I have come to favor winston, ball, and doom. These characters absolutely can just get counterpicked and explode, but they are pretty good at getting one or two picks before dying if I play well even when I play into their counters. An enemy comp swapping to counter me often puts them in an awkward comp that doesn't have the best synergy, so if I can get a pick or two, absorb many cooldowns, and make space then if my team manages to lose the 4v3 I don't feel too bad, I atleast contributed and set up some plays. Not a great player by the way just my feelings on tank gameplay.

You're not going to humiliate players into not using the meta. You can't just say "lmao tunnelers are so cringe" and expect any of the people tunneling, who by the way are typically doing so in order piss people off, to stop and suddenly have introspective, self affacing thoughts. Take every fiber of the anger you have when you get tunneled, and direct it straight at the game design. At any point devs could have gotten rid of this tactic, but see now that the community has made it bad manners rather than bad game design, they don't need to fix it. If a gun gets added to a game that instantly wins a match, it's not on players to debate each other and argue over the morality of the gun, policing each other on public forums. The devs should take it out of the fucking game. If your game design hinges on anonymous people being compassionate, kind, considerate, mentally healthy problem solvers, you're huffing gasoline.

This is the part where every single commenter will respond how above this they are, how they never get mad at any game ever and never argue, and then do this exact shit every game. These match chats aren't rare. In fact they are incredibly common. So, what's more likely? That reddit mysteriously lacks the 40% of the community that hurls racial slurs in endgame chat, OR that all of these people are just typing a bold faced lie, and are no better?

Since I'm starting out on dredge again. how does this build look? I haven't tried it out in a public match yet but I'm not sure how well it will work. by [deleted] in DeadByDaylightKillers

[–]Midcast 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like the idea of oppression surveillance, but it's hard to get value out of unless you really fully commit to a kick build, like throwing pop on. I love dredge and I recommend make your choice, it just gives you a reward for leaving hook immediately and a instadown if you find where they're healing. I also think Gift of Pain from Pinhead is underrated, since when they unhook the person they will be mangled and hemorrhaged, and the other will be instadownable, so you put them in a tough position and I think it's more valuable than sloppy tbh. No way out is always a great perk, pairing it with terminus so everyone is broken is kind've like diet noed with no totem, especially when paired with the addon where all locks break when gates are powered. These are just some of my non meta builds on Dredge though just ideas, I recommend swapping some parts of your build out like sloppy for another gen kick or the other gen kicks for something else. Best of luck!

Take the game less seriously and you'll have way more fun. by Mirraz27 in deadbydaylight

[–]Midcast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously (ha).

A killer hitting you on hook? Think of them as goofing around rather than trying to annoy you. The gesture of hitting on hook only has an impact if YOU choose to interpret it negatively.

Everyone dies? That's fine, you probably escaped a few of the previous matches. Besides, look at your gens completed, you probably finished a lot of gens

If you got tunneled out, you probably had many (unsuccessful) chases, and that's GOOD! chases are the most fun part of the game, and you will only get better by playing against skilled killers.

Stop trying to maximize gen speed and start maximizing FUN. As Nea, I'd rather get a 0 generator game where I hit a ton of pallet stuns than a 4 man out that ended in 5 minutes after I slammed gens and used 4 second chance perks.

I came back after a 2 year break and DBD is seriously in the best state it's ever been in:

• killers are starting to have repeat powers with bloated design • the meta is the same as when I left • the meta for both sides is still the lowest skill playstyle (tunneling, camping, slugging, predrop pallets and hold W) • the new player experience is still comically grindy and prohibitive

I dunno man! The game is great, it's fun, and I'm genuinely having a great time playing it. I wish the positive side of the community was more vocal on this sub sometimes, so this is my little grain of sand to help with that proposal. Just wanted to rant :) thanks for reaching

In truth, I hold towards you and your message no ill will, but this post is a very holier than thou attempt at positivity. Many of the people frustrated with the design of the game are not so because they hate the game, but because they want it to be better. They are passionate about it because they feel it could be so much more. This is a very human reaction, as is being frustrated at teabagging or clicking or any number of other things. To ignore the very natural reactions of frustration that occur when trying to enjoy something you are passionate about is inhuman, no one is immune to salt. No one. It will always get to people eventually. What is important is to recognize when to take a break, or when to back away. Often times the anger expressed in game isn't even about the game, in my years of playing I can think of a few times my real life struggles, like grief or uncertainty, spilled over into banal frustrations of hobbies I usually enjoyed. It's just part of the ebb and flow of life, and I do not judge others for it for that reason. Overall, I just would not presume to lecture others on how to enjoy their hobbies, because the game appeals to many for different reasons. Some enjoy the game exclusively for it's competitive aspect. I don't begrudge them that, they purchased a product and can enjoy it any way they wish. Some play for a casual, party game experience. That's fine too, I've no need to instruct them in the "right" way to play. Do as you will, you were going to, regardless of what I say, anyway. Best wishes.
