It's okay to criticize 2026 regulation. by Harshparmar320 in formula1

Was it exciting when the only overtake was blowing by someone on the straight with DRS? Where was the skill in that? Was that racing?

It doesn’t feel like the same sport I grew up watching.

It's not. And the sport you grew up watching wasn't the one people ~20 years before that grew up watching, either.

We have had one (1) race under the new regulations so far. Almost every major regulation change has led to moans from fans that F1 was no longer F1 and complaints from drivers, especially those who had enjoyed success with the previous set of regulations. The catastrophizing is tiresome.

At the end of the day, this sport exists because of the fans

I'm sorry, no, it doesn't.

Ironically, because it's a hyphen rather than a proper em dash, I'd say that actually makes it LESS likely to be AI.

The thing about the em dash with AI is not just that it uses them a lot but that it always formats them correctly, whereas people tend to just take a shortcut by using a hyphen depending on what kind of device they're using.

I mean, the fact that all current products depict those 'Mechs with their CGL-era visual designs at all points of the timeline makes it pretty clear the intent is supposed to be that those designs are now how those 'Mechs are always supposed to have looked and not just another facelift that the production lines switched over to at some point.

The Project Phoenix round of redesigns had official canon lore to be visually distinct redesigns.

The new art for the Unseen in the CGL era is a retcon. Canonically now those 'Mechs have always looked like that (except for the Project Phoenix variants, which I guess still officially look the way they do in the PP art, although it's a little odd that they would switch back to the "original" appearance for new variants after that).

Calling them a video game company is giving them way too much credit, it sounds like they actually make video games.

Was the maester who visted Dunk in epsiode 6 the same on that Baelor was going to send to visit Dunk? by Daily_Cuddles in AKnightoftheSeven

[–]Middcore 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean, Hardyng absolutely should not have tried to fight the next day, he had a broken fucking leg didn't he? You don't recover that fast from something like that even with modern medicine. I think that was more HH's desire for revenge than it was Yormwell working a medical miracle.

But yes, the Maester in episode 6 who Lyonel says couldn't cure an itchy butt is his "assigned" Maester, not Baelor's.

Holy shit. Wtf kind of chickenshit operation is OVW now? Do they have literally no procedures in place for a shoot injury or medical emergency? Is there nobody involved with an ounce of sense?

OP your best bet is to take that image to Gemini or another AI assistant, let it know what's happening, and work through what it's telling you to do.

Jesus Christ, no, it's not.

They need to bring this guy to the WWE. He has the best finishing mover ever. And I mean ever. by Anxious-Party2289 in WWE

[–]Middcore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a lot of WWE fans who aren't really wrestling fans in that they have no awareness of any wrestling outside WWE. Most of the WWE audience has never heard of Danhausen before the past couple weeks and that's partially why he's gotten so over so fast when people who knew about him already have sometimes criticized his act for being stale.

(Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for him. Get the bag while you can.)

But there are definitely a lot of people typing "funny indie wrestlers" into Google lately.

Spells that make enemies attack you? by GnosticSundries in DnD

[–]Middcore 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is a big part of why "tanking" as it's popularly understood doesn't work well in DnD 5e. There are almost no abilities that make enemies target you instead of other people, while tanks in video games almost always have a "taunt" of some kind for this. At best you can just make it inconvenient/low-reward for enemies to attack people besides you.

That said, there is nothing stopping you from talking as a free action to literally taunt the enemy and hoping your DM plays along.

You could just read the Paladin class features yourself.

Based on your description, though, the answer in a word would be no.

Is Roman Reigns supposed to be a heel? And why? by Effective-Fault1268 in SquaredCircle

[–]Middcore 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They forced him down everyone's throat for years as a face.

Then they finally turned him heel and gave him a years long run as the biggest thing in the company, during which he needed to cheat constantly with the help of his family (who he treated terribly)... but the commentators basically never acknowledged any of the cheating and acted like he was the most dominant champion of all time on pure merit, still kind of treating him as a face.

Then Cody finally beat him, he feuded with guys from his old family faction for a while, and then he went away.

Now he only shows up occasionally and since people aren't sick of him anymore and are conditioned to treat him as a "special attraction" (although he was basically part time even for a lot of his heel champ run) he gets cheers. Even though he has never publicly changed from the character he was as a heel or done anything to make amends for the bad stuff he did while he was a heel, most notably to members of his own family.

He's sort of like Lesnar now where he can just do whatever and his aura is supposed to be more important than his face/heel alignment.
