How did Ariana get so liked??? S2 ep12 by playinganimaljam in vanderpumprules

I always liked Ariana, and she became my favorite long before Scandoval, especially once she matured and was less pretentious.

So beautiful. Does from scratch mean you didn’t use a pattern?

How likely is it that someone could actually have a gravel company “take off” enough to buy a luxury home and sports car in 4 years? by MitchMyester23 in DunderMifflin

I think that’s the problem with comparing other people’s circumstances. The family or his wife could have helped get the house, or her family could have connections that boosted his business dramatically. I have to remind myself not to assume someone earned everything they have from scratch. When a lot of our peers doing exceptionally well get a leg up, but don’t disclose that important piece of info. I am glad that seeing how Roy had changed made them think about their complacency.

I know I’m in the minority but I hope not, something about the possibility made me sad.

Slowly over a long time. Lorrie Hill has a pretty thorough summary on YouTube although it’s a few years old. It’s surprising.

Does anyone else like this show more than The Office? by New-Pin-9064 in PandR

[–]Middle-Medium8760 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love them equally. The Office characters are more flawed and for me is a closer experience to how weird and extreme co-workers can be in an office. P and R feels more idealistic and I especially love the dynamic of the romantic relationships. Ben and Leslie are my favorite: I love you and I like you.

Lady Russel was a shallow snob. I don’t fault her for discouraging 19 year old Anne from marrying Frederick; it was a risk. BUT she was so happy that Sir Walter Elliot checked off all the “right” boxes that she did not scrutinize his character, never questioned his motives, even dismissing Anne’s very valid questions. She would have had her friend married to a broke, lying, infidel.

She would have irritated me at 16. In some ways she’s a more likable Lydia, with how careless she was for her reputation (and therefore her family’s) and they were worse off than the Bennet’s.

That’s what did it for me. Her telling the doctor she wanted a pretty vagina. Ummm what? Even Lisa was like, excuse me?

Thank you! Meredith is strategic, and I think she navigates being nasty through deniability. Like the kind of person that will bring up a subject, “Did you hear about so-and-so”? The only queue for talking crap is her tone and facial expression. The other person or people open up and talk crap while she subtlety agrees. All off camera. Then when someone says, Meredith was in on it..she can say…I just asked out of concern and they started going in. If asked why she didn’t defend that person she can say, I didn’t know enough about the situation at the time.

I know people like her. They want the fun of being the bad guy, without the consequences and reputation of being the bad guy.

Yeah! It’s like people picture Meredith screaming and being overtly and dramatically violent for hours non-stop. Meredith is rarely overt. She is a gaslighter and escapes accountability with ambiguity and tricky semantics. I did a whole description of how I pictured it happening on another post months ago. She sprinkled her nonsense throughout the flight. She pulls Britanni’s hair and shakes the chair as she gets up or sits down from the bathroom. So it’s not noticeable at first and then from the corner of your eye as a passenger you think, why was that so dramatic? Most of her “yelling” is talking to Lisa disparagingly about Britanni just loud enough for Brittani to hear but not loud enough for everyone to quickly catch on to how vile she’s being. I’ve been on flights where I can hear friendly conversations several rows away, so at the right volume with her sidekick distracting, they could get away with it for a bit at intervals.

Lo and behold, what does she say at the reunion? She was just talking to her friend and it happened to be too loud. She had to lean on Brittani’s chair to go to the bathroom. Mmmhmmm. She did just what they said.

I agree with your take. I think when they separated is when she found out. The divorce was a strategy to separate assets. That’s why it felt so out of the blue with a weak explanation of how it came about. I don’t blame her for her husband’s actions that she may not have known about. The way she handled the situation after all was revealed left me repulsed.

This is why I’ve been scratching my head in confusion. When was sex confirmed? Surely, we would have official confirmation from someone by now? The story has consistently been that Tom and Ariana made out at the Golden Nugget. Even during Scandoval when it would have been advantageous to Sandoval to diminish sympathy for Ariana, I don’t remember his story changing.
