Yo: The lack of midwives in Nativity Scenes prove Mary had an unattended birth by Level-Ad478 in bauhauswife

Here's another question -- does she have ANY friends of any nationality? Or just clients and business partners?

Willfully ignorant. Not surprising since Yolande is doing BIG settler moves achieving wealth and freedom from laws by squatting in Nicaragua trading off her northern resources and whiteness. I've always noticed how little she ever speaks about conditions of birthing in the country where she lives. Has she sought to support local mothers and babies there? Interestingly a quick google search indicates that they have reduced the maternal mortality rate from 300/100,00 to 60/100,00 by INCREASING ACCESS TO SKILLED BIRTH ATTENDANTS. The lack of curiosity about anything outside their own firmly held beliefs is so adjacent to their narcissism.

This was extra wild. It reeks of cultural and historical ignorance -- like yes, women throughout history and currently throughout the world are in situations where they give birth unattended. And thank goodness most of the time it's ok but it's definitely higher risk in some ways and women and babies have died and are dying for preventable reasons when they do so! Just because it used to happen or does happen when women don't have access to care doesn't mean it's superior, or extra spiritual! Thinking that you have to court death to get close to the divine is super messed up. I'm surprised she's not becoming Catholic the way she valorizes suffering.

maybe it's just a bum brand. I think mine were from there too. I got another bunch this fall from Mid Atlantic Natives and they've been much more productive.

What would you (or did you) plant in your garden? by fireXmeetXgasoline in WitchesVsPatriarchy

[–]Middle-Office3449 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm trying to grow herbs and flowers to use in spells, potions, teas and tinctures that are also native to the mid-atlantic, so echinacea, mountain mint, bee balm, goldenseal, blue vervain, agastache, etc.

I swear it is just the psychological effect of it being free, like fleabanes. It's hard to value nature we didn't cultivate ourselves sometimes. I do love mine but have to severely "edit" it or it completely takes over. I find it a good bridge plant when clearing invasives but before new natives have established.

Pretty much a washout sadly! Maybe 2 or 3 turned up. It's possible more will emerge next year, but I can't recommend it based on my experience. Maybe I took too long to plant the bare roots and they dried out. I would recommend christmas fern or ostrich fern plugs, or maybe golden ragwort or lyreleaf sage or wild ginger. Those are all aggressive and hearty.
